    Pros

Flexible working environment allowed a good work-life balance, ability to work from home from time to time was good.

    Cons

I was employed at the Godalming office where almost 60% of the employees were related to one another - very clicky environment has been allowed to continue due to the scrub my back i'll scrub yours 'old boys' club' network. I wonder if an external review were to be held on this what the company would have to say about its corporate culture in this regard.

    Advice to Management

Hire an external firm to review the corporate culture and nepotism within the firm, especially at certain locations - i.e. Godalming, Newcastle.

I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, personal touch, great training opportunities. Technically skilled people. Good opportunities for overtime but no pressure to do this. Flexible management style. Sociable atmosphere and good social events which take place often. Good emphasis on innovation.

    Cons

Small company feel, lack of briefings or info on company policies, you have to fend for yourself when it comes to IT. Cramped dark and dated office. Tiny desks

    Advice to Management

Overall good company, nice technically competent people, and a good sociable atmosphere. Nice place to work but you tend to recruit rather than reward current workforce.

    Pros

Some interesting and proactive senior managers. Opportunities for those wanted to expand career.

    Cons

Questionable HR practices, weak hires, increasing WSP influence changed the nature of the company. Poor pay and bottom line focused.

    Advice to Management

Focus on culture and values. Become a more interesting and inspiring place to work, that focuses less on the bottom line. Instill some confidence in employeers.

    Pros

Big company. Great opportunities for career development, even more now that Parsons Brinckerhoff has merged with WSP. Many offices in the UK and abroad. Large investments in graduates. Training accredited by IMechE, IET, ICE, etc.

    Cons

The salary is in the average of UK salaries for graduates, but it could be a bit higher. The three year graduate programme is quite long compared to other companies and not well structured yet

    Advice to Management

I would suggest to put in place a better structured graduate programme. However,I am aware that after the merging with WSP, action has been taken in this terms and a well defined graduate scheme will be in place soon
