Passcon Bulgaria is, simply put, yet another Bulgarian BPO, plagued by substandard management. Its values:
- Crowd control
- Budget cutting
- Reaction instead of prevention
You don't really learn AML and the training will be limited to its own operations. There's no upskilling unless you go for becoming a QC which will not pay more but the workload will increase significantly.
People earn different salaries for the same work and once they've proven themselves, they won't get a leveling but instead be offered a 5-10% increase of a salary, meaning that if somebody started on a higher salary, a person with more motivation starting with a low salary would never get to that equal pay (or maybe after several years). There are no Christmas bonuses, there's no annual bonuses, no performance bonuses (although there are very biased performance reviews).
They will outright lie to you on the interview and job ad that there's a home office and free german lessons. That's not the case. The only reason people are home office is due to covid and there was a case in the office where 7 people had covid and it took the management 2 days to settle the home office which meant another hundred were exposed. I came in for the german lessons, which never came and were never even noted again.
The communication hierarchy is as follows:
Client > AMLRightsource (parent) > Passcon so everything the client says has to be done and most of the changes happen without a notice. I'm talking big procedural changes that affect quality and quantity of work but the expectations are still the same.
You will be bullied for low performance although their performance measuring system is unfair, and sooner or later everybody has a low score. Your work will not be reviewed for months and when they do, you will figure out you were working on wrong instructions. Every rework you get will be a slap on the face and a step closer to a manager 1on1 where you will be degraded for "not doing your best". The trainings are pathetic at best.
The managers are for a crowd control function just mediating between the analysts and the higher management. They will use either intimidation or manipulation on you to get their way - if you react to their aggression with aggression, they will try to act as your allies. I was labeled as "conflictual" and I felt that way too just because I didn't like how unjust the decision-making (or lack thereof) was at some point. Do you want to complain about something in the company - the management will be ever so understanding but the only action you will see is the time while in the meeting with them - they will not lift a finger for you, even for missing belongings in the office due to the IT managers' inadequacy.
There's overall some slimy things happening such as threats, not giving you raises, avoiding you if you have an issue and when they want to fire you, they will offer you a mutual agreement where they don't have to pay you compensation.
And all of this - not even half the story.
Working for these people, you will get a feeling that they want to fail the project. You will not see any investment in you and your confidence will be under threat as they will challenge your worth daily. Don't succumb, use this as your trampoline for real AML work.
