Pros

The list of pros for Pega is shrinking by the day. The one pro that sticks out is the decisioning /1:1 customer engagement solution. It's very good. The other proposition areas are 'a bit lost' and the marketing and selling thereof leaves a lot to be desired. If you are one of the old-timers at Pega (and there are lots of them), then keeping your head down until retirement is an attractive proposition. The company is bursting at the seams with very average middle-managers - who manage upwards/hide and pick up a decent salary and share allocation. The politics is horrendous - from the top down...and it's getting worse as the 'bad news' keeps on coming. The lawsuit loss to Appian is one of the latest bad news stories. Missing financial targets is now the norm. This is turning Pega in to a very introspective organisation - and not a nice place to work.

Cons

The cons/issues with Pega start at the very top. Alan Trefler is the founder and STILL the CEO. You need to retire Alan. His inability to let go/exit the building is suffocating the business and all the Execs. The quality of the C-Suite is decidedly average...and there's a cluster of old guard/yes-men in key positions. You can tell the 'Head of Strategy' is busy reading the websites of more innovative businesses and then suggesting various initiatives to help 'modernize' Pega. e.g. Inclusion, Wellness Days, Platform of Platforms etc etc - Pega only tacked these on many years after the market started to innovate in these areas. What was once a fun place to work has really gone down hill fast.

Pros

Great people to work with and learn from. Good industry-leading technology.

Cons

Narrow-minded leadership, deceptive practices. Want to make wall-street happy more than customers and employees.

Pros

The technology is great, UK management is pretty good, benefits are OK too.

Cons

Pega decided a while back on a shakeup, brought in a new top manager so Alan Trefler could step back. New guy brought in a bunch of senior managers from IBM, SFDC, SNOW, did try to shake things up, so lots of people who didn't want to be shaken up left. New top guy has now been removed, so lots of his senior hires have left too. Most of us with long tenure now don't know what the culture is any more, and have decided that the grass is greener elsewhere (which of course erodes what little is left of the corporate culture further). Senior managers have become obsessed with announcing new job functions among VPs, most of whom no-one outside HQ in the USA knows, and whose job titles are becoming more meaningless by the day. There's a raft of new communications and engagement initiative, mostly done without apparent thought - for instance "Ask the Leadership Anything" sessions, where the only permitted topic for questions is decided in advance by the leadership. So more "Ask the Leadership what they say" then... Add to that, as another reviewer has commented, that the benefits package isn't even close to keeping up with inflation, and the (once pretty lucrative) options scheme is now worthless because the share price has collapsed (as have many tech stocks, to be fair), and it's no wonder attrition has jumped.
