Pros

Great pay and solid benefits package. Military-friendly environment; you’ll work alongside other veterans who really get the mission-first mindset. Strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork across departments. Leadership generally respects your background and experience. Career stability — once you’re in, there’s plenty of room to learn and grow if you take initiative.

Cons

Constant policy and procedural changes can create stress and confusion. Communication from upper management isn’t always clear when those changes roll out. During severe weather or emergency days, everyone is still required to report in — sometimes only to be sent home a couple hours later. Promotions can move slower than expected due to internal processes.
