My time at Peppermayo was the worst experience of my professional life. I would give zero stars if possible. The company's practices are concerning and unprofessional, to say the least. During my time there, employees were unfairly dismissed for having pre-booked holidays (a fact not questioned during the interview process), for not being a “vibe” and after alerting Fair Work to the intolerable work environment. The co-founders and HR demonstrate a lack of communication and collaboration, micromanaging via group chats from the very early hours of the morning to late at night, even on weekends. Experienced professionals are not respected, their suggestions dismissed in favor of the founders' whims. Positive achievements are met with criticism rather than praise, and any attempt at problem-solving is shut down with passive-aggressive behavior. The company operates in a disrespectful and unethical manner, resorting to gaslighting, bullying, and misleading practices. There are no opportunities for professional development or promised performance and pay reviews, and team morale is consistently low due to the toxic environment created by the co-founders. Peppermayo's actions, such as firing employees without proper notice or payment (past employees are still waiting for their superannuation payments), and mistreating external suppliers, demonstrate a lack of integrity and professionalism. Overall, working at Peppermayo was a nightmare, and I would caution anyone considering employment there.
