    Pros

Good place to learn the basic foundation of clinical research and CRO management.

    Cons

Low pay for heavy work load, especially considering the desired qualification is a BS in a life science or clinical degree for this position. Extremely high turn over rate in the department. Employees are not encouraged to grow.

    Advice to Management

Consider hiring majority of people with associate degrees in the department. Target a few hires each year for a fast track training program for positions with more responsibility throughout company.

I worked at Pharmaceutical Product Development full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working in a GLP lab with a lot of different analytical techniques is a plus. Good working atmosphere in the labs and site services department, many opportunities to work in a matrix, international environment.
PPD pays well (I'm middle management) and offers a lot of advantages such as company car, smarphone, health insurance, pension plan...

    Cons

If you're middle management and above, your manager will probably be in the US, so communication is not always seamless. High turnover when it comes to top management. Department goals are very ambiguous, sometimes you wonder where you're going.
Do not expect to have a good work/private life balance. Several cases of burnout and resignations during the last year. Follow-up of your career expectations (including scientific and intellectual interests) is inexistant.

    Advice to Management

Please do realize that your colleagues outside of the US can be of added value too.

Great manager in my department. Flexible schedule, excellent PTO, paid holidays and benefits.

    Cons

Pay is low for industry. Limited opportunities for career growth. Organizational structure is not flexible or efficient.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the process and results than creating a gridlock of systems and records.

    Pros

    Great Pay
Coworkers are amazing. Very friendly staff.

Can be stressful with tight turnarounds, learn how to cope/compartmentalize.

    Advice to Management

Great company! I love working here, but for the amount of work the pay could be better. Either way I love my job because of the amazing people here.

I worked at Pharmaceutical Product Development full-time

    Pros

Company offers good work/life balance for some positions. Takes entry-level applicants. Decent career growth for some positions.

    Cons

Increased workloads each year with only cost-of-living pay increases. Positions are very siloed, no cross-training between teams. Training is minimal to get employees working on billable projects without fully understanding the roles and responsibilities. Managers don't have time to care for each employee and help them grow/learn.

    Advice to Management

Take a few steps back to a few years ago when training was more thorough, workloads were reasonable, managers helped and cared, and employees were more fulfilled and happy.
