I have been working at Philip Morris International full-time

    Pros

Compensation and collagues. The transformation efforts are supported by genuinely great products

    Cons

Politics, gossip and lack of meanigful development opportunities. If you are unlucky to work under narcissistic management... you won't get any job satisfaction. Unless you have kids and mortgage, run. Everything is focused around oldschool corporate practices, endless meetings and PowerPoint

    Advice to Management

    Seek feedback before crisis happens

I worked at Philip Morris International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, depends on the company, but I made good friends there. Colleagues are able to train in other departments, which could be a bonus if they would like to do something different.

    Cons

The usual office politics, lack of career advancement, but possibly due to management. Some people are doing things for the sake of doing things.

I worked at Philip Morris International full-time

    Pros

Very flexible as I got to work from home and decide my work hours, demographic and territory. Improved skills from working remotely using collaborative technology. Salary was quite ok

    Cons

Spontaneous changes in structure - they seem to be trying out new strategies a lot of the time.

    Advice to Management

Some FAEs need to be trained on people management, specifically how to manage a team and drive them to achieve results.

I worked at Philip Morris International full-time

    Pros

Great company ethos, fantastic place to work

    Cons

Many senior positions are on a secondment basis so an indepth understanding about a particular market might be lacking in some decision making roles

I have been working at Philip Morris International full-time

    Pros

Very good compensation and benefits; appraisal structures; good opportunities for movement and development especially internationally if that's your thing. Lots of travel but excellent hotels etc when you do. Nice offices.

    Cons

Moral dilemma of selling and marketing addictive products. Business transformation to "reduced risk products" can feel a bit desperate. New management has destroyed previously high morale. Successful employees will feel pressured to relocate internationally.

    Advice to Management

Don't take your employees for granted. Address inefficient processes. Think through sales and marketing plans more carefully.
