My experience with this organization began with an unusually prolonged interview process, where communication was limited and primarily one-sided. Meetings with senior leadership, including the CEO and HR, lacked substantive insight into the role I was being considered for. Once hired, the onboarding process was highly disorganized, setting a concerning tone for my time there.
Work Culture & Ethics:
Throughout my tenure, I encountered several practices that raised significant ethical and legal concerns. Many employees were aware of these practices but felt unable to voice concerns due to fear of retaliation. There was a noticeable atmosphere of favoritism and selective enforcement of policies, with certain employees receiving favorable treatment based on personal relationships rather than performance.
Morally Questionable Behavior in HR:
The HR (payroll) department, seemed particularly problematic, as I experienced actions that felt biased and unjust, with HR taking sides instead of fostering an inclusive, supportive environment. Several employees warned me about underhanded tactics within the department, and I personally observed instances where employees were disciplined without clear or consistent reasoning.
Potentially Illegal Practices:
Beyond moral concerns, there were issues that might cross legal boundaries, especially in how employee matters were handled. Confidential information was consistently shared inappropriately, and there seemed to be a disregard for proper documentation and processes in terminations and disciplinary actions. This created a sense of vulnerability and lack of security among staff.
