Pros

The diversity of work and clients had the potential for learnings and long term growth.

Cons

By far the most toxic and degrading work environment I’ve ever been a part of. Poor female leadership and sexual harassment by male partners in Brisbane. They do not care about the health and well-being of junior lawyers whom they exploit, bully and ignore.

A concerning place to work

Pros

Positive from an events point of view Good floor space and Sydney office location

Cons

Concerning issues behind the scenes Irresponsible management/partner structure that have developed a culture of blame and dangerous behaviour HR, predictably, does the job of protecting and enabling poor leadership in the event of issues I would say there isnt really any true care about the wellbeing of the profession here. Many of the partners have serious personal issues that spill out onto their staff and HR take a by the numbers approach to protect themselves when concerning issues arise. It is a collection of boutique firms where each partner makes their own rules, but that means the partners really are not accountable to a proper professional culture and many of those teams have a high turnover. Some partners lack accountability, transparency and responsiblity for their own actions and treatment of their staff. I would say it is a systemic cultural problem that management has enabled the partnership to act this way and it is the mid-level and junior levels that suffer. Some serious irreparable harm has occurred to people that have worked here that there was a complete refusal to take responsibility for at a partnership level.

Pros

Good IT systems and hardware

Cons

Horrible place to work, culture of tolerating bullies (if those individuals are profitable) and celebrating litigious victories against former staff who speak up
