I have been working at Planet Fitness full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I love the members that come into the gym and all of the new people I get to connect with on a daily basis.

    Cons

Not a lot of direction from corporate. Raises were not a thing until a year ago. Upper management only notices you when you're doing something wrong. Hard to take time off. Always answering my phone when "off".

I have been working at Planet Fitness full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work out for free Flexible scheduling, good for college students Moving up in the company is easy

    Cons

Budget cuts have led to an absence of necessary supplies (toilet paper, cleaner, paper towels, etc.) Upper management outside of home club has no regard for team members Compensation is meager for management level positions Constant management/team changes due to high turnaround

    Advice to Management

Effectively listen to team members and facilitate a positive atmosphere instead of focusing on negatives and constantly berating team/immediate management Don't make changes immediately unless incredibly necessary, ease teams into procedure changes

I worked at Planet Fitness full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great GM and staff that made the job worth coming to

    Cons

Upper management were snakes who lied and tried to get over one another which made club management and the staff uncomfortable

    Advice to Management

Put feelings aside and actually make it so the gm, assistant manager and staff are not uncomfortable when you’re around . Also you are at a laughable 26000 dollar salary and expected to cover all shifts that call out which is a lot. You are also required to work 42 hour weeks. The job isn’t hard but rules there make easy tasks unnecessary

I have been working at Planet Fitness full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay raise every 3 months, free gym membership.

    Cons

There is not as much room for growth as they claim. The more I have worked here the less I have wanted to grow in the company. upper management is always looking for the things that you do wrong instead of giving you any form of praise. everybody is always out to get everyone. regional managment is very unprofessional and will say nothing but terrible things behind your back, wont speak to you when around, and holds grudges like a child. you have to use scripts for calls, and get graded on these. one bad call = one write up. You are constantly being chewed out for billing issues and peoples accounts to which management never backs you up you're on your own. super unorganized and everything's constantly changing such as policies and rules so when you try to enforce them you end up looking stupid because you weren't told things have changed. claim its a ''Judgment free zone'' but will constantly talk badly about members, judge people for not understanding things, and not want to help anyone which is absolutely opposite of what they stand for.
