I worked at Plante Moran full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible schedule and ability to flex your working hours. There are some really cool people that work at the company.

    Cons

The culture took a 180 once covid-19 hit. Management doesn't have to see your face, so they don't care how deep your drowning. Teams will continuously pile more and more work on, and make you feel bad if you ever speak up. All the while, partners and management will hold the unspoken threat of terminating you if you step out of line. Some partners are great and seem to truly care about their teams. Some partners act like you're a thorn in their foot and they can't be bothered to learn your name. Overall, I was significantly disappointed with how the company changed so drastically over the past year.

    Plante Moran Response

We recognize that navigating COVID- 19 hasn’t been easy. Our staff have always been encouraged to bring concerns related to workload or work-life balance to their supervisor or HR. That hasn’t changed and has actually been encouraged more in our remote work environment. We work hard to address concerns staff bring to our attention. Over the last year we saw some common themes emerge and responded by implementing Plante Moran Work-From-Home Remedies, which offers additional flexibility, more balance, technology enhancements, and financial support to ease the stress of challenges from the pandemic. We’re so proud of our staff and all they’ve accomplished through these unprecedented times

I worked at Plante Moran full-time for less than a year

    Cons

Siloed structure, limited cross over with employees. Not a lot of interaction.

I have been working at Plante Moran full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Culture and People - really is first class - Partners and managers are all very nice and people take care of each other

    Cons

Not rewarded for extra work or strong performance as compared to peers - Raises are minimal and always seemingly “equal” amongst your start class - no reward to be gained for working extra or being a strong performer (typically just results in being given more work to do and client requirements to meet)

I have been working at Plante Moran full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Leadership is great. Benefits are great too especially parental leave and alternative work arrangements

    Cons

Compensation compared to other PA firms is poor, bonus plan is purely data driven which sometimes can undermine efficient high performers. Career opportunities can be tough if you're not a great salesperson

I worked at Plante Moran full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Likely to make or meet some friendly people and make some contacts

    Cons

Mgmt including Mging Partner (s) are Jerks. Never go into a meeting alone or record it. They always have at least 2 on their side to corroborate/lie about what they said. Its not what you know - its Who you _low there. Arrogance from the Top Down. They pressure employs to fill out surveys so they remain on those "Best Places" to work lists. Its a joke. They are always looking for the next merger candidate, eventually will sell out to the Big 4.
