Pros

Playroll is built and run by people who are incredibly smart, friendly and driven. Having grown rapidly in the past 12 months, I was expecting chaos and inevitably some "wrong hires", but have yet to see any of that. This is a business that is truly customer centric and empowering to all employees. Without the burden of external investment, it has allowed the business to be a "people-first" organisation AND ambitious - something that is sadly rare in today's economic environment.

Cons

Standard laptops are PCs not Macs (I know, really clutching at straws)

Pros

Playroll is truly a once in a lifetime company to work for. The combination of people, product, background, and market timing have all come together to create something spectacular. It's rare (if not impossible) to find an independent bootstrapped business with true product market fit, but that also has the DNA and infrastructure of a global powerhouse behind it. Playroll is a true idea meritocracy where everyone can contribute to progressing the business forward--regardless of level. The Co-founders are an effective team combining deep leadership experience, wisdom, and passion with a once in a generation mind and executional talent. If you work hard and seize on opportunities in front of you, the business rewards and supports you. I have seen numerous examples of this across our coworkers and it's a good feeling to go to work each day knowing you are on a winning team. They say the mark of a good culture is when your people aren't dreading going to work on a Monday -- I'd say Playroll brings out the opposite feeling where you often spend a weekend looking forward to getting back in the trenches. Company values aren't just words on a page, but something engrained in the DNA and which deliver on their promise across the organization.

Cons

Standard laptop issuance is not a Mac. On a serious note the main con isn't about Playroll but about the market we operate in. There simply aren't enough hours in the day to seize on this market opportunity in an increasingly fast moving industry - that means it's sometimes challenging to prioritize and focus.
