I worked at Plymouth University full-time

    Pros

Working with students and creative staff. I learnt a lot about my field by getting to talk to other technicians and they supported me.

    Cons

My opinion is that the management is reluctant to invest into facilities that will actually help students. Lots of money is spent on branding and looking flashy.

    Advice to Management

Students first. You're a university. It could be better for them.

I worked at Plymouth University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Wonderful campus, excellently positioned

    Cons

Archaic management standards and a lack of policy and procedure made working for the UoP very stressful.

    Advice to Management

Improve descending communication, provide better information on higher decisions to guide the work output. Put existing managers on courses to improve their style of management. I encountered ridiculously insulting micro management which did nothing for morale.
