I have been working at Plymouth University for more than a year
Pros
The University offers flexible working, there are good people working very hard to keep it going and the University has good pay, better than you find for most jobs in the area.
Cons
Lack of direction by management, going through a difficult transition period, better communication required, need to give line managers better training.

I worked at Plymouth University part-time
Pros
Flexible working Manage own time 24 hour library access Coffee shops onsite Really nice place to live - easy access to Cornwall, Dartmoor and the coast
Cons
Tight deadlines If you're an associate lecturer you are unlikely to be provided office space. As such you'll have to meet students in the library or elsewhere if they need extra support. Pay is not enough - can take 4-5 hours to plan a lecture yet pay is only provided for hours taught.
