Pros

Good superintendents Good relation with architects lots of free time due to lack of backlog management and long term planning.

Cons

Management is more concerned with their own interests and not the best interests of the company. no long term plan. Partner in charge of BD efforts is close to retirement.

Pros

* There are a few really friendly project managers and superintendents still there. * Not a very demanding workplace, which is great if you're not particular driven. A great place to coast (if that's what you're looking for). For instance: - Minimal oversight. - No performance reviews. - Lighter hours than just about any other GC in the industry. - All non-technical projects, and always the same type of projects. (i.e. lots of paint and carpet, paint and carpet, paint and carpet)

Cons

There is a downside to all the Pros. While there are many friendly PMs and Sup's, the two Owners can both be incredibly difficult in their own right. I have felt very uncomfortable and outright sexually harassed at times by both of them. They also feed a cliquey vibe. While it's incredibly lax, that means you're not learning as much as you could if you were on more diverse or technically challenging projects. Coasting takes it toll on your resume and on your abilities and work ethic. And you will be paid commensurate to the work atmosphere. PBI is structured for C level players, and it pays for C level players. The spread of salaries is incredibly limited, and the extremely incremental salary growth comes at a snail's pace. The main office is located on Minna Street in an extremely sketchy part of town. Walking in and out of the office, there's an equal chance you'll walk past a junkie shooting heroine, a homeless person engaged in a sex act, step in human feces or urine, or maybe get lucky and not see anything. But if you make this your place of work, don't expect to get lucky on a regular basis. On a good day, PBI is a below average company where you can pass the time and pick up a paycheck. On a bad day, it feels broken, dirty and shady, and on it's way towards a train wreck.
