I have been working at Pubmatic full-time

    Pros

From the start everyone in PubMatic has been welcoming, supportive and encouraging. I've felt as part of the team immediately and am happy to be surrounded by people I can turn to whenever I need help, advice or just good company. Lots of socials, lunches together and team building! Very relaxed and casual environment, many rewards and benefits such as office lunch and massages.

    Cons

Sometimes ideas are hard to implement without support of upper management.

    I worked at Pubmatic full-time

    Pros

Free office snacks & refreshments. A good social vibe in the UK office.

    Cons

    1) Redundancies, layoffs & a high turnover of staff was common in all offices
    2) Very few case studies were released
    3) Internal meetings were often prioritised over external client meetings
    4) In comparison to their competitors, they spent very little on marketing yet expected the same level of new business wins.
    5) There was a lot of negative sentiment in the UK market towards the PM brand, it was difficult to secure trust on many occasions, this may have changed under their new UK lead and probably originates from the massive round of layoffs they made.
    6) It was common practice for people globally to be let go without warning, this made many uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

    1) Hire more managers that have a background in programmatic (like your competitors do), your clients will want to spend more time with them. Your pubs & buyer expect to learn from your leaders.
    2) Spend less time on internal meetings, encourage your staff to spend time with clients, this is still a relationship led industry (can inc long lunches & late nights)
    3) Give your managers the autonomy to do the job they were hired for, daily chasing from senior leads over small issues frustrated many in your regional offices, however, managers were at times scared to raise issues in meetings as they feared loosing their jobs if they were seen to be disagreeing with CEO, President etc.

    Cons

Senior Management - Lack of (Product) vision and Leadership
Too many changes within the Product Org prevent company to stay ahead

    Advice to Management

Spend more time on hiring Senior Leaders

    Pros

    - Nice social events
    - Good work life balance

    Cons

    - very high resource turn around at every level including senior level. Pubmatic tend to hire senior resources for a few months and then fire them or let them go
    - lack of transparency and honesty from management team
    - a lot of politics at every level
    - lack of accountability at every level
    - lack of processes, a lot of inefficiencies and lack of documented best practice have had a negative impact on successfully manage growth

    Pros

A company with leading automated technology for programmatic media. When you work here you will always be learning at a fast pace. People are fun in the London office and keen to solve client business problems in a consultative way.

    Cons

Structural issues and inefficiencies on the operations side. Product development seemed to have slowed and competition in this space becoming more fierce. An SSP is a volatile place to be and this is one.

    Advice to Management

Provide more structured and thorough training when someone new starts.
Consider experience outside of programmatic for commercial leaders as they may have a refreshing perspective.
Express the vision of the business and the industry more often to employees.
