    Pros

The company has had its ups and downs and has been able to sail through.

    Cons

This company, specifically engineering org is for Emplyee #1,#2,#3,#4,#5,#6 maybe 7 and 8. Everybody else is only helping build wealth for these few.

Nepotism is rampant and wrong people are leading the engineering org.

    Advice to Management

Engineering is your backbone. Have someone more mature run it.

    I worked at Pubmatic full-time

    Pros

    - Helps you understand how programmatic really works
    - Ocassionally has fun events
    - Snacks

    Cons

    - Little accountability
    - Inconsistent comp
    - Inability to retain good people

    Advice to Management

I wish I had more positives. PubMatic has solid tech (back-end, not front-end) and has some good quarters. But decisions are very top-down, there is little accountability, meetings are horribly run, and the consumer facing products they've tried to build are way behind the competition. Because upper mgt is an echo chamber of guys telling each other they are doing great - and again, no accountability among each other- your job feels like you're running from one fire drill to the next and never with any clear direction.

One of the top, most visible execs has an ego that is both shocking and disheartening. He uses teasing to mask bullying, but make no mistake - everyone is aware. This gives the New York office an atmosphere of:

    - not questioning managerial decisions
    - not saying anything that could be controversial
    - encouraging people to leave if they disagree

Which obviously hurts the business and culture & many of the most talented people have left. The underlying business does fine sometimes, but the politics have kept any real innovation from happening.

The consistent positive in these reviews is that it's a good place to start your career or gain experience in programmatic. I think that's true. But when your baseline knowledge is zero and your pay is cheap, anyplace is fine. There are CLEARLY better places to learn and grow, even if you are a newb. And clearly places where your voice will be heard more (forget about ever reviewing your manager for his or her manager to see). Go somewhere else where you don't have to deal with the politics. You'll miss free lunches two days a week, but you'll enjoy your day-to-day more.

I have been working at Pubmatic full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are some of the smartest and most passionate I have worked with in the industry. The leadership is very engaged with all levels of the organization, and makes an effort to always push excellence while also valuing fun, and has been working hard to ensure that PubMatic has a positive, inclusive culture.

    Cons

It is definitely an intense environment. The industry moves very quickly, and PubMatic is always striving to be at the forefront. Not a place for people who want to breeze through the day.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on being open and transparent with the organization
