Pros

Teaching itself can be a blast. It's tricky to get the flow of the class at first but, once you do it's not a bad way to spend an hour. If you're like me, it's rewarding to share your passion for physical fitness. Seeing students improve is a definite highlight.

Cons

I was told when I was hired that I would be teaching anywhere from 10-15 hours a week. Our contract stated that we needed to teach 260 classes to pay off the cost of our training. If we quit early, we'd be responsible for the prorated amount. (Fair enough, that's about 6 months -perfectly do-able.) After the studio opened, all teachers were given about 5 classes a week which means we are stuck in the contract for over a year. Had I known that, I would have never signed the contract. Teachers are expected to be marketing on their free time to draw in clients. Teachers also expected to attend meetings and events that are unpaid. There is hesitation from some team members about saying anything regarding unpaid time or expectations because if we are fired, we will be expected to repay training costs (which are a bit over $2,000). Not all owners know what they are doing as teachers. As an instructor, it's frustrating to take orders from someone who clearly is unsure as to whether she is even doing the movements correctly.

Pros

Friendly clients, most people are easy to get a long with, and everyone (for the most part) is happy to be working out. The benefit of membership

Cons

Xponential has created a culture inside Pure Barre that allows people to USE others with complete disregard. At - Will Employment allows studio managers to take you on and use you while they need help in a transitional time and then drastically cut your hours or fire you on the spot. They lack class, character, and respect to those who are willing to go above and beyond to support the studio in all possible ways.
