I have been working at QA Consultants full-time

    Pros

Chance to work with a lot of big name companies. Quite a lot of freedom to do it your way.

    Cons

Huge pressure on resources, everyone doing too much, very long hours. Lots of politics and senior people avoiding taking ownership.

    Pros

Team - being surrounded by best of the best QA professionals makes for a very productive and efficient ecosystem. Over half of the people have been with the company 5+ years. Culture - constant focus on innovation in the QA space. Everything from developing the most innovative automation and performance testing solutions to testing autonomous cars. Facilities - the Head Office in Toronto is simply the best space I have ever worked in. Spacious, Modern, private cafeteria, Subway entrance from the building. Paid Training - company pays for all professional development courses. Amazing Clients - being able to constantly work with clients from every industry from constraction, banking, insurance and retail to gaming, automotive and government is very rewarding and interesting. Health and Dental Benifits including Gym Membership- company pays for executive membership at GoodLife if you go minimum 12 times/month

    Cons

As a professional services firm where our clients pay for every minute of our time we always have to be on top of our game... Not everyone has what it takes...

I have been working at QA Consultants full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great place to work for QA & Testing specialists. Opportunities to work in all areas of QA & Testing, including Functional Testing, Test Automation, Performance Engineering, Security Testing, Accessibility Testing, Mobile Testing, Data and Analytics Testing , Autonomous Vehicle Technologies, etc. Great opportunity to work for many different Clients in differing Industries with different QA & Testing challenges and Technologies. Fast paced environment with ever-evolving skillset requirements. Always on the cutting edge in terms of QA & Testing Best Practices, Tools and Technologies Great opportunity to learn from Experts in QA & Testing who use industry leading techniques, processes and technologies. Great office location with convenient access to TTC and GO. Opportunities to Travel around Canada, the US, and the Globe if that's what you desire. QA Consultants has Clients primarily in Canada and the US, but also around the world. Lots of Flexibility and Independence in your role if you are able to show that you can deliver successfully.

    Cons

Focus is primarily on QA & Testing, so if you have interests in other areas or are just looking to leverage Testing as a way to just get into IT as a first job with a Goal to do something else (and you don't have a true interest in QA & Testing), this is not the place for you. Everything you work on will be related to QA & Testing. This is a fast-paced, ever-changing and evolving environment and specialization. If you can't embrace change and embrace continuous improvement and training, you may find QA Consultants a challenging place to be successful. While the Salary does reflect the Industry for the most part, the Benefits and "Perks" can always be improved. Things like RRSP matching, Profit Sharing, etc. would be great to consider.

    Cons

For some people, the rapid pace of change in testing and advancement in testing methodologies and techniques can be daunting. QAC will fully support those who are ambitious and want to learn and progress.

I worked at QA Consultants full-time

    Pros

None, really. Unless you're new to the field and need to get any work experience..

    Cons

A very bad company, dishonest at its core.. 1. Sweat shop mentality, trying to squeeze every penny out of everything and everyone, having its employees do continuous unpayed and unreported overtime. 2. Continuously overpromising and underdelivering. To everyone. To the people that work there, as well as to the end clients, having the employees try to pick up the slack at their own expense (see point 1) 3. Low pay, and non-existent (practically) benefits. 4. Weak, bad and dishonest management. 5. Will throw any employee under the bus in a heartbeat if it suits them. Will only end up paying the very minimum required by law (e,g,. 1 payed week for every year worked there)
