No sense of direction , no appreciation, no communication, no system for a raise and bonus is not based on performance

      Pros

Free coffee, smart individual but they won't stay, experience to work on many projects in different fields.

      Cons

If you love being ignored, or get your idea rejected with no business sense, if you do not care of getting support from business development for your idea, you have no hope to advance your career and only love a pay check, it could be a place for you.

It was great a few years ago, no so anymore.

      Pros

Working on interesting projects. Good environment for people out of school. Flexible hours, free coffee. You can work with some very bright people, before they realize that this is not the place for them.

      Cons

Hiring process - minimal screening for important engineering positions, management, reviews, review process, culture, job security. Layoffs are common...almost every year and they are not target towards the worst employees, but have a very random pattern that seems to surprisingly surprise everyone.

      Pros

      Cons

Too many to list. Hopefully they can re-create the company and make it successful, but current management is driving it into the ground.

      Pros

They offer all day free coffee (lots of flavors(, tea and hot chocolate

      Cons

This was once a great company to wok for -- it used to have great employee moral, and working here was something you could be proud of. Sadly, it's all changed, and it feels like the company is going to told any minute, which has people doing all kinds of crazy and may unethical things just to ensure they can work for as many weeks as are left. Just a sad, sad, state of affairs.

      I'd give the whole gig a D+

      Pros

Great entry level opportunity to learn basics of defense contractors internal structure, understanding of configuration management, documentation control, engineering changes, validation/verification, test planning etc. Free coffee/tea Free ice cream biweekly during summer Use this as a place to start your career or to bridge the gap between this and a better opportunity.

      Cons

Compensation as a Contractor: Compensation wasn't terrible for the first year, but by the time I got to the fourth, and witnessed no growth, you come to realize that they really don't care about your future (maybe even your existence). I was banking on learning more in sacrifice for yearly raises but don't have high expectations other than to robot your way through a lot of VERY dry work. I went to my agency numerous times and it was always a 'bad time' to get a raise and HR was very reluctant to offer raises to full-time employees, never mind contractors. The company is clearly downsizing with layoffs galore, and people are quite frankly nervous whose next on the chopping block. Everyone got a standard 2% raise annual raise to match inflation internally, and no merits were given.

      Job satisfaction decreasing exponentially

      Pros

Good starting compensation, free coffee, good work/life balance. Many interesting projects and product lines. Free ice cream every other Friday during summer and free parking.

      Cons

Top heavy senior management, most are unapproachable and have minimal leadership skills. No incentives or career growth opportunities. Benefits reduced each year. Increasingly negative and lethargic workplace atmosphere, more and more people seem to be binding their time fearing the next workforce reduction, plant relocation or closing.

Interesting group of technologies, needs to be more cohesive

      Pros

The managers tend to care about their employees, and the company has a fairly social atmosphere - from free coffee stations to ice cream trucks and group luncheons, they try to establish a social culture where much business is often done "around the water cooler." Management and many of the employees really believe in the mission of the products created, and the base technology is fun to work on.

      Cons

The company is made up of several small companies that don't yet know how to efficiently work together and/or share resources. With a foundation in military/government technology, funding can sometimes be a struggle. There is very little done for employee development and expectations are not well set. Goals and performance reviews are afterthoughts if thought of at all.
