Pros

- If you are less than 2 years experienced Software Engineer, and if you are ready to work for 12+ hour, and if you agree to never disagree with your manager, and if you are ready to not learn anything related to engineering and trading - You will be payed good.

Cons

- Nothing to learn, managers are clueless about coding, latest technologies and software engineering in general. - No work life balance. Doing bad manual work for 12+ hours a day, sometimes during nights if you are working in non-India friendly market, takes a toll on your mental and physical health. - Everyone works for bonus. You only get good bonus if you are doing extra ordinary and have good relations with manager. They generally fire people just before the bonus time. - No female in the company (except the only HR). They don't intend to hire any. - You cannot leave the company on a good note.

Pros

There are only 2 good things but both have a catch : 1. Salary is good ( But they don't give you the full bonus amount and keep as much as 10-15% for 3 year employee retention which is a big trap.) 2. Annual offsite (It seems a luxury but this is a mandatory 4 day trip which includes 24 hours of journey and this is not FREE, it is a part of your CTC unlike other HFTs)

Cons

1. Work is not good. Code quality is really bad and manual work and monitoring eats all your time. 2. Zero work life balance. You have to be available 24 hours (specially in current covid situation the company expects you to pick up the call in one ring at 4 am) 3. Company culture and management is not good. 4. Salary structure is a trap. Even the "complementary food" claimed in the offer letter is not free. 5. Notice period as large as 6 months. 6. No bonus paid if you leave the company after working for 11 months. The bonus is discretionary and if the company knows that you won't be staying in the firm, they might decide not to give you anything. 7. It is difficult to leave the company and they make sure you don't join a HFT. 8. Blame game culture - For any major issue, there is a chain of blames and finally the lowest in the chain is blamed and that person is made to compromise with the bonus citing carelessness. This isn't always true but happens in case of major issues, which by the way, are not rare at Qaudeye.

Pros

Not all senior people are criminals, some are just bad mentors. It doesn't count as slacking if you watch live sports off a big TV screen while working from the desk. But oh you cannot speak with a colleague in the pantry for more than 5 mins. You can take a sick leave if you are not well but you are still expected to work because you are not really sick all 24 hrs in a day.

Cons

Fake Discipline - I was working on alpha research, I was not managing a live trade, I would reach office between 9 and 9:30 am. My mentor would reach office at 11 am and give me a lecture on discipline. Dumb money - I was just one month into the job, I had a steep learning curve until one day my mentor told me how he could save time and money by doing the work all by himself and finishing the project sooner and taking the strategy live earlier. He could actually do it because he used to get 25hrs in a day. Anyway, I never asked him any questions again. So much for growth. Inhumane people - I had gotten covid and had taken sick leave. I was expected to work but I did not because um I could not because I was really sick. As soon as I recovered and got back to work, my mentor asked the HR to ask me for a voluntary resignation :) I had a traumatising experience in the very toxic environment
