      Amazing whilst it lasted

      Pros

      * Amazing people: made lifelong friends, and had the chance to work with some of the most talented people I've met through my career across all levels from interns to Jeremy (our CEO) * An amazing culture (in QB\Labs) : autonomy, a startup culture, caring leadership, interesting and challenging work, quick progression (if you're good) and lots of trust, flexibility and fun. The ability for everyone to have a voice and have it matter. * Learning: an unparalleled focus on learning and development, with some of the most helpful and thorough performance reviews, as well as training opportunities. A real culture of learning and a sense of everyone pushing themselves, with lots of feedback.

      Cons

      * Compensation: uncompetitive and unfulfilled promises to make it better. Hard truth is that the very top of McKinsey cannot envisage paying technologists more than themselves. * Eroded culture: towards the end of my time there, the culture was heavily eroded by the huge influx of McKinsey consultants being shoe-horned under the QB brand. QB leadership replaced with McKinsey leadership. It's a shell of its former self. * Talent: Lots of the initial good talent has fled the company, including co-founders and those that joined in the early days due to the above. A marked decrease in the quality of new hires to replace them. Focus on diversity and inclusion over talent and ability.

      Cons

      - not great work life balance (long working hours but generally better compared to wider McKinsey)

The best company I've worked for.

May 18, 2021 - Technical Recruiter in London, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Passionate people - Top-tier talent and technologies - Room to have impact - Really fun environment - Competitive comp, benefits and perks

      Cons

      - Sourcing support is limited to inexistent - The company (McKinsey) decides to boost recruitment in certain areas without increasing resources which puts the teams under a lot of pressure - Room for growth is very limited in for Technical Recruiters (not "generalist" recruiters) - The Recruitment leadership team (in McKinsey) has no Technical background and doesn't necessarily understands the specificities of hiring Tech Talent

      Great Opportunities, Poor Implementation

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - access to brightest minds at McKinsey - access to great resources and training - get to work on interesting problems - great benefits and lavish celebrations - travel opportunities are exciting (if that's something that interests you)

      Cons

      - hiring seems really hit or miss (quite a few bad hires made, spoils the team spirit) - high management turnover is really disconcerting - chaotic, unpredictable environment - HR are sleepers. They're not great at hiring or retaining good people. - technical projects managed by McKinsey consultants who manage products like they would a client engagement (trying to fit a square peg into a round hole)

A very exciting and inspiring place to work at

      Pros

It gathers very smart people from different backgrounds and very enthusiastic about their work. Everyone is very nice and willing to help, and projects cover a wide range of different sectors. It is very gratifying to feel the impact of one's work and it is an excellent place to learn everyday. Its own culture and the great working environment is one of its biggest qualities of QB.

      Cons

It requires working long hours sometimes

Incredibly talented colleagues and an environment values technical and learning abilities

May 12, 2020 - Data Scientist in London, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I have been in QB for about half a year, and it's been a steep learning curve, which I feel grateful and excited. The overall environment values technical abilities and provides many resources for learning and improving these abilities. People I met here are incredibly talented. The projects are interesting and impactful.

      Cons

      - Pressure to perform - Can be fast paced during a project
