I have been working at RSM Agency full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

No two days are the same, vibrant office environment, salary rewards as frequently as deserved (not annual and in-line with inflation). Company profit share scheme. We all have different strengths and weaknesses, and we to address this. A sentence you never hear at RSM, ‘it’s not my job.’

    Cons

Small team, need to be a team-player, and understand that sometimes our priorities change throughout the day due to client demands. As a boutique agency it is important that we are working t best-practice, so essentials we stay on top of this within the respective sector.

I worked at RSM Agency full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Please, read this before its too late. The day you leave, which will not be long as no one is the right fit for this role. EVEN IF DESPERATE, THE DOLE OR CLEANING TOILETS IS PREFERABLE - EVEN WITH JOBS BEING SO SCARCE

    Cons

Hell does exist, and Joseph Wheeler is the maniacal ruler of it. The one good review on here he admitted to me that he wrote - IGNORE IT I don't even know where to begin because this place is beyond unbearable, so just going to list: - Joseph Wheeler is a narcissistic, vile, rude, insulting, inappropriate boss who constantly needs to find fault with everything to fill his own gaps in experience and knowledge. - He asked me inappropriate questions about my personal life such as sexuality. Be prepared to be called hun, darling, love regularly. - You will be given tasks that make no sense, when you ask for clarity he will get angry and shout or simply ignore you. - Nothing you do will ever be right, if you do submit work and are lucky enough to get feedback, even if you do exactly what he wants from his feedback word for word, it will still be wrong and will deny the feedback he gave. - Hired me to manage people but then would not let me manage anyone because he was paranoid about some kind of co-conspiracy with the new team member, who hated Joseph as much as I did after 2 days. - Will not compensate for work travel arrangements, and will force you out to dinner with him the whole time you are there then proceed to drink 1 or 2 bottles of wine in front of you casually, then ask you inappropriate questions. - He has no idea what he is talking about at all, and his sidekick Ronnie is not to be trusted as they both cuss each other out constantly. - Office was not COVID safe, forced to sit next to people without desks being cleaned, no masks or sanitizer anywhere, no soap in the toilets. - He will ignore you for days on end if you ask questions, which will hinder your work, then he will expect it all in 5 seconds and deny receiving any emails/shout at you for not getting it done. - If you dare to stand up to him he will make your life hell and force you out, which is what happened to me after I was personally insulted in front of all the university staff via email and called him out. He is the original case of little man syndrome and cannot be wrong or criticized. - He loves the phrase "you aren't the right fit" and you will probably be told that. But no one is right. - You will be hired having no idea what you are doing, will be given no training, no company structure, no daily routine so it's just like swimming in an ocean with no lifeboats or rafts ever coming. - Will personally insult you openly in front of everyone if you dare to make a typo in an email, despite the fact his emails are full of them and make no sense. - Joseph Wheeler always knows best, you are but a slave and punchbag, do not voice an opinion. - Staff turnover ridiculous and everyone leaves for the same reason. - Will try to scare you with thoughts of company collapse and say "if this isn't done no one gets paid" despite driving 2 Lamborghinis. - Admitted drunkenly to me he likes to "get staff young and scare them into shape" Please, please, please, don't work here it destroys you for a while but nothing will ever phase you again. This place is the test of life and changed me as a person. To other former staff members who also survived, congratulations and never look back. *** RECENT EDIT - The new member of staff I was supposed to manage just quit for the same reasons I have outlined above, without even seeking alternative employment. This says all you need to know. ****

I worked at RSM Agency full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

None. Leaving time. Not even joking

    Cons

Awful place to work. The owner is a bully and occasionally throws stuff. One guy made up that his dad died just so he could leave the office, he never returned.

    Pros

None, we'll the barn was nice when they worked from there.

    Cons

Joseph Wheeler is a horrible person. He looks down on people. He shouts when you use the wrong font on letters and envelopes. I didn't stay long. I went on to bigger and better things.

    Pros

    Erm... nothing springs to mind.

    Cons

The don’t have a clue what they’re doing. Their ridiculously high turnover of staff speaks volumes. I have never left a job so quickly (with zero regrets). Do yourself a favour & steer clear.

I worked at RSM Agency full-time for less than a year

    Pros

nothing, terrible business practices and working in the dark ages

    Cons

Owner tells you to do something then you find out three other people are now working on the same thing all thinking they are doing it as he didn't have the guts to actually tell you to stop. isues over contract (none), issues over begging people to leave their agency then cutting their pay, being shouted at and treated like an idiot when you've done what you were asked to do but he's forgotten, only the girls get shouted at to make the tea, being ignored all day when you've a meeting booked with the owner for him to see you for 5 mins at the end of friday and throw out the weeks work insisting you stay until it's done or leave. I left gracefully then had to chase for my money for over 6 weeks.

    Pros

The day you leave, what a joy!

    Cons

Without doubt the worst place I have ever worked. The ruler Joe Wheeler is a tyrannical, rude megalomaniac who thinks he knows everything - he offers no advice or direction, and keeps his staff under-resourced as much as he can. He didn't even invest in a media database. At the time there were some impressive motorsport names as clients, but any time spent with Wheeler is absolute hell. I remember him saying several times "98% of illnesses are in the mind" just showing what a callous attitude this slave driver has. After a few weeks of 14+ hour days including weekends, I decided unemployment was a better option. Do NOT believe the very long positive review on here, Wheeler clearly wrote this himself.

I worked at RSM Agency full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Leaving for the last time

    Cons

    - No matter your position in the office, you will get made to feel inferior and be consistently patronised. - You will be ignored, yet at the same time be expected to run around the evil overlord like a slave. - No structure whatsoever. Just a catastrophic mess and a scramble to put things together as the md has absolutely 0 idea what he's doing - so expect to have about 5 different job roles. - You will be expected to do countless over time. Leaving the office even two minutes after 5pm when you have finished your contracted hrs is highly frowned upon by your highness and his sidekick. You must stay at least 20 minutes extra each day! - Any ideas that you put forward will 99.9% of the time be thrown back in your face and then you will get humiliated in front of your colleagues for going against the grain/being innovative/using initiative. Remember - Joe knows absolutely everything!! - You will begin to lose memory of what a lunch break even is from your previous roles because that is not accounted for here. If you have fallen victim to working in this devils den (I weep for you), then I strongly suggest taking up smoking just so you can go outside. - A very prehistoric approach to running a business. I completely lost the spring in my step working here and became a different person due to the toxic hell hole that was RSM Agency. Never in my life have I been spoken to or treated like the way I was here. I’d break down multiple times a week having to face going into that awful excuse of an office, sometimes even within the premises. It’s a massive shame because his employees are talented and always try their very best. It was horrible witnessing the change in people the longer that they worked there - smiles all wiped clean off their faces and their energy levels run extremely thin. My best and honest advice is to NOT EVEN CONTEMPLATE WORKING HERE EVEN IF YOU’RE DESPERATE - yes, even in these difficult times where paid work is scarce. I would have rather been unemployed on job seeker pay than working at this lame and joy-snatching excuse of a marketing agency. Lastly, do not be fooled and let your opinion by skewed by the fake 5 star reviews like I was. It would be extremely painful for even the most '''''satisfied''''' person working at RSM Agency to give it even 3 stars.

I worked at RSM Agency full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Clients are interesting and vaired, and the staff were talented and trying their best.

    Cons

One of the most toxic and unpleasent work experiences of my life. Truly a "little mans kingdom" , the toxic management led to clients being prioritised based on personal views, rather than good business sense, or size of account. Requests and work was often nonsensical, and long term planning was often thrown out due to personal whims. Rudeness, passive aggression were common from management, and turnover extremely high. I was there 1 year, and in that time, I went from the newest, to the employee that had been there the third longest, due to the majority of other staff leaving.
