      Flexible job but missing benefits

      Pros

I've been working on and off with Randstad for more than a decade so I love the flexibility of being able to work for a year or just a few months. My office is good at getting me out on assignments but it's been more difficult as more opportunities are temp to hire than just long-term positions. Getting paid weekly is super convenient, especially if you work shorter and more infrequent assignments.

      Cons

Lack of holiday and vacation benefits really sucks. I've just come off a year-long position and I worked every single day the office was open without a single day of vacation or paid holiday. It's really annoying as I work just as much and hard as everyone else. Depending on the company or organization you may feel like a temp, not completely connected to the organization but I've been lucky that most include me in regular company events, etc.

      Pros

Very supportive Account Manager and staff. They work very quickly to place you in a job and connect you with the hiring manager.

      Cons

It's a contract job, which means no benefits until you've passed a certain period working with Randstad. Therefore, if you need to take any time off, it is unpaid.
