Friendly Company with lots of career progression

      Pros

I have done multiple placements as a student within Renishaw. Everyone is friendly and inviting. Big focus on innovation, quality and smart design. The company has always looked after me and frequently invited me back to obtain more experience, they genuinely care about your future and what is best for you.

      Cons

If you like having lots to do and being busy sometime workload can be slow especially in design devisions. However, if that doesn't appeal (as it didn't to me) just work in manufacturing department where there is plenty of time pressure.

      Pros

It is clean, hours are good. Sick pay and pension are good. Co workers are all nice.

      Cons

Slim to no chance of progression. Management don't have the first clue how to treat people. No matter how little or much you work no one cares. Pay is poor you don't get rewarded for being with the company a long time, or going above and beyond. New people are starting on nearly the same wages as people who have been there for 10 years +

      Pros

There is a practical aspect to the job (experimental and design work), training is available, great people, good variety of work, great work-life balance, beautiful campus in the countryside, gym.

      Cons

It is a long commute from nearby cities, if you're not the biggest fan of designing jigs there is lots of work to do in designing jigs, not the highest salary and no pay transparency, no paid overtime, no bus from nearby city centers. Not very competitive perks - no free meals, bus etc.
