Pros

Decent product-market fit (for now), Exciting start-up, less expensive than competitors. The sales reps are some of the best people I’ve worked side by side with.

Cons

Upper leadership is mostly concerned about looking good to investors. The VP of sales was hired in the spring of 2023 and the culture has been downhill since. Their goal was to look good with massive growth, so they over hired in sales. Rather than admitting they made a mistake with over hiring, they put reps on aggressive Performance Plans to force them out. Now they can tell investors “Rhombus didn’t have to make any layoffs during these hard economic times”. These performance plans were unfair ( territories got split but the quotas remained the same). The company would rather pump out exaggerated numbers indicating a productive quarter, than caring for the well-being of the employees. Every change in the last 10 months has been to the sales reps’ disadvantage. Upper management doesn’t care about reps, current VP doesn’t have social awareness. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone in the sales org that believes in him.

Misalignment with Leadership

Pros

Team members are really amazing. Have always felt like the team is open to collaboration and helping others whether it be covering while on PTO, or simply bouncing ideas off one another. Proven market with an above average cloud product. Competitive with other top vendors. Hybrid work environment was a plus .

Cons

Unfortunately, there have been some management changes over the past year starting in 2023 that have shifted the culture. Sales were never told the why behind quotas being set or why territories were being split. Sales Ops can never provide a clear answer. Less than half each team segment achieves quota. Personally I don't believe Rhombus is at the point of growth to start raising quotas and splitting undeveloped territories. If so, there needs to be communication as of why backed up with numbers. This has really hurt a lot of reps. AE's are responsible for net new business, expansions, channel/partner relationships, customer success and most of the time customer support. Most of the days are spent account managing, yet we're comp'd on net new business. If the job title is AE I would not expect to have to juggle these other jobs. All of these changes were made since new management stepped in. There also seems to be a disconnect between upper management and C suite.

Pros

- some great people - cool core product - great partners and distributors

Cons

- leadership is far removed from the org and only show up to say a few words, then leave again - didn't seem like leadership was fully behind or supporting of some moves the sales org implemented, then hung the leaders who implemented them out to dry when they weren't executed to their expectations within a fairly short timeframe - DE&I is not a priority
