I worked at Riot Games full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Tons of learning opportunities Lots of freedom and ambiguity Feedback culture Super smart colleagues in many business functions Enjoyable people

    Cons

Managers are often inexperienced and bad at managing or leading people Even though feedback culture is great, many at Riot are ignorantly unskilled I’m giving feedback which makes it difficult to parse or use Stakeholder management can be extremely challenging because everyone thinks they need to have their voice heard which can become very inefficient

I have been working at Riot Games full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Riot is a special place. It is obviously not perfect. But the pros still far outweigh the cons. - Trust of the whole team to test and innovate - Understanding the difficult times we are living during the pandemic - Freedom of communication with anyone in the office, without the need for bureaucracy (the problem is finding time on the agenda) - Values its employees, either with payment or with "perks", team building actions etc - There is a genuine desire for everyone to evolve and work better

    Cons

    - You will work a lot. Really. It was worse, but there are "unspoken" expectations of certain teams so that you are available 24/7 - The diversity in the company and in the BR office leaves much to be desired, but it was worse - Contractors, who work as much or more than Rioters, are often treated as second-class citizens. Not with insults or lack of respect, but the difference is clear with "lack-of-bonuses" (but there is a genuine desire to change that) - The company quickly loses itself in the amount of meetings, with that you don't feel productive, just jumping from meeting to meeting (yes, many times it could be an email)
