I worked at Robert Half full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The job is incredibly demanding and you are held to an arguably unreasonable standard, which helps build character and resilience.

    Cons

The culture is incredibly toxic. People are outgoing, you're in a posh office, and it can seem really nice from the outside or when you first join. The reality is that there are massive ethical issues and management actively encourage you to lie to candidates and clients in order to close a deal. If all you care about is money and you're willing to work excessively long hours/ step on others toes to get it, this job may be for you. Last point, you aren't gaining any transferable skills that can be used to develop your career. You could go into a junior sales role and work your way up if you get out soon enough but be very careful as that's about it. One of the managers at Robert Half described it to me as "golden handcuffs" since you don't like the job but you're paid too much to leave and start from square one.

I worked at Robert Half full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People, benefits, processes, opportunities to learn

    Cons

I had a bad experience with a line manager who micro-managed me, bullied me and kept telling me I wasn't good at my job. She was good at her job and she didn't like my work. Her poor management skills meant that I struggled with poor mental health, intense stress, lack of motivation and battled with early signs of depression before I got out. I had tried to alert a senior leader whose response to me was that I was probably not good enough at my work. I decided to resign after my manager verbally attacked me and made false accusations against me. Shortly after I resigned I was asked to leave and had two hours to pack my things and go, without a chance to say a proper goodbye to my colleagues. I've told all of the above (and more) to their HR department and hope that the company will act on my feedback.

I worked at Robert Half full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Genuinely vibrant office - Good reputation in the market

    Cons

-KPI Driven -Training and Development is rigid, based on numbers and billings. Not an extensive training programme to help new recruiters. -Senior Managers and Managers often think of themselves first rather than the overall picture. It often leads to an environment which creates competition rather than inclusion and a team playing environment.

Former Employee - Recruitment Consultant in Leeds, England

I worked at Robert Half full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I loved my time working at Robert Half and couldn’t recommend it more as a business. I joined as a graduate and was given the best sales training I could have asked for, which was consistently updated throughout my time working there. The Leeds office has a great atmosphere - it is a really fun place to work, but is also a competitive, driven environment in which you are pushed to succeed. The management team are amazing and incredibly supportive, constantly working with you to help you progress. The commission structure also means you are highly rewarded for your hard work! I only left the role due to relocation and was really sad to leave - I looked forward to coming to work everyday because I got to work in a great place with great people! Genuinely couldn't recommend enough.

    Cons

The job can be tough at times and it does take hard work (as with any recruitment role), but there is constant support and it is definitely worth it in the end!

    Pros

Good exposure to recruitment if it's your first role

    Cons

Old school mentality of 'hitting the phones' rather than be quality driven . Some serious concerns over the ethics displayed by the most senior management in London
