I have been working at Robert Walters full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Support from management with career development is very good - Recent investment in training programmes has been excellent - the courses are relevant and I have been encouraged to think and act on my self-development - You are seen as an individual and encouraged to be proactive and innovative, not micro-managed - A real focus on team work and supporting each other - Commitment to innovation

    Cons

    - Need more support with technology, quite a way off being a seamless process to be agile - although having the tools to work from home has improved - Diversity is strong in some areas of the business but not in others

I have been working at Robert Walters full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Robert Walters is a fantastic company to start your recruitment career or even join further down the line. Many people in the business are ex industry and for junior joiners there is so much opportunity to learn. Robert Walters offers an autonomous environment and the ability to quickly climb the ladder if you prove successful. You have the brand to enable you to effectively get in front of new clients and build a business...

    Cons

At first it will feel like you are working a long day and the hours can be tiresome but it absolutely flies by and you need the time to get things done. We work very hard but also get the opportunity to meet a range of people, eat at restaurants you wouldn't normally choose and have many sporting events.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work closely with each team - keep investing in technology and ensure the working environment continues to be collaborative.

I have been working at Robert Walters full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - career progression - great brand - internal and external training - culture and workplace - workplace flexibility - international opportunities

    Cons

    - clarity and timing of communication from top down could be better - I would expect directors to be active in the market, securing new business for their teams

    Advice to Management

It is a great place to work and so long as they continue to invest in their people, provide support and actively ensure that communication is fed down the lines accordingly, staff will feel settled and focused on recruitment.

I have been working at Robert Walters full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Genuine belief in building relationships with clients Teamwork mentality Always looking for the best ways to train consultants and managers Encourage ideas that will help you build your business Recruitment treated as a career rather than a sales job Great seminars and panel based events to invite clients too Excellent white papers, salary guides and market intelligence information for clients

    Cons

Can be a little risk averse to technology/businesses that is untried (new, recently set up) however they're adapting quickly Could be better interoffice communications Interview process can be a little long though they do want to make sure you get the best opportunity and with several disciplines this can be hard

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work to improve the working lifestyle of the consultants Continue to ask the employees for their input when launching new products Make sure that everyone within the group of companies are aware of each other (RW/RS).

    Pros

Great working environment - given both autonomy to get on with work, whilst support is there if needed In-house training is of an excellent standard, really helped coming from a non-recruitment background Really good career opportunities, RW are big on internal progression and rewarding people for the work they put in. Definitely a meritocratic environment

    Cons

As per all recruitment agencies, the hours can be long
