I have been working at Rolls-Royce full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Rolls Royce pay for my training in college to receive my Engineering Qualifications. Next year I have to move to Derby, but the company are helping me out massively. There is a great sense of care and time given to employees, especially apprentices where we are helped every step of the way. I can not wait to qualify and start my career with Rolls...This is definitely a company or life. If you're young and looking for an Engineering apprenticeship, don't hesitate to apply. By far one of, if not the best apprenticeship in the country.

    Cons

low starting pay (But many pay rises depending on performance of apprenticeship), as i'm based in London its hard to meet my apprentice leader as he is based in Derby

    I worked at Rolls-Royce full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary, challenging roles but expect to have to work for job satisfaction and benefits. Range of job opportunities.

    Cons

Lack of turnover in staff, too much stagnentagion. Processes still to complex and mostly block what you are trying to achieve

    Advice to Management

Develop and progress capable people, not the ones who talk the talk. Too many people progress into roles to simply move them out of their current role they are failing at.

I worked at Rolls-Royce as an intern

    Pros

Good exposure to Civil Aerospace and Airlines business. Opportunities for learning about the company and Rolls Royce impact in the Aerospace, Marine and Nuclear industries.

    Cons

Very large and therefore slow business - was very frustrating waiting on other employees to carry out your work. Projects are very long and therefore can become somewhat tedious.

    Advice to Management

Improve intern/graduate induction procedures and provide more engaging work loads to new starters within the company. Ensure work is engaging and there is more opportunity for development within the company.

I worked at Rolls-Royce (Less than a year)

    Pros

In the time I was at Rolls I was always impressed with the calibre of the people in the various teams I worked with, dedicated and highly knowledgeable in their domains. I learned a lot and I hope that the people I worked with felt I reciprocated. The variety of work and outcomes also made working at Rolls highly satisfying.

    Cons

Probably usual for a corporate of this size, inertia in making some decisions with a lot of process sometimes being put between the individuals and projects trying to make progress with all the correct intentions.

    Advice to Management

Do look externally for how other organisations operate with agility while managing their risks. Keep up the engineering, business and technical integrity.
