Pros
A dynamic and fast growing company that gives you the opportunity to make a big difference in day to day operations. You will be challenged but this gives you the opportunity be involved with and learn a lot about different areas of a project. An excellent team of people that are very experienced in their field. They are dedicated to supporting each other and making you feel part of the team. Communication is very good with weekly whole company updates, this makes it a very open place to work.
Cons
As the company rapidly expands there are the expected growing pains. However, the company is open to new ideas and is moving in the right direction to adapt to the expansion and ensure the correct processes and procedures are in place.

Pros
Some smart hardworking people who are friendly and willing to help each other out for the most part. However most of the best ones don't stick around too long. Interesting tech with a good mission to make offshore energy greener. Operational side of business making big improvements with more structure and planning and leadership. Face paced work lots going on not boring Reasonable benefits (flexible and remote working, healthcare, pension), development and training provided for some.
Cons
Tech side (Vaarst) lacks direction and experience at senior level of developing tech products and bringing them to market. Not enough market research and too much focus on marketing and appearances than building decent and sustainable products. If you dare to show initiative or voice an opinion that is not agreed with by the top then you will be berated, sometimes publicly. Senior management appear powerless to make decisions or even stand up for their teams-there is a lack of trust from the top. Cronyism is common, but this is not unusual for this industry.

Pros
Rovco has a great company culture - the people who work there are all equally energetic, hard working and supportive of each other. Rovco is a growing company and it's really exciting to be part of this growth and feel you are valued throughout.
Cons
With growth comes challenges, naturally! But with the right teams and support, they are easily overcome.

Pros
Flexible hours and the ability to work part time and/or compressed hours. The company's attitude to remote working is good with the choice of working in the office or from home. Private health insurance with free dental/eyesight support, and online access to private GPs, which I've been able to extend to my family. Get to work on exciting new tech, and I feel like I'm constantly learning. The people here are all very good.
Cons
Expectations are high and the company doesn't have a problem letting people go, sometimes losing unrecognised talent which can impact on team morale.

Pros
- Get to work with some very cool technologies - Application of cutting edge technologies for good causes - My opinion was valued highly
Cons
- Ludicrous expectation of "time to market" from concept to prototype to product - Insufficient market research performed, assumption that "knowing the industry" is sufficient (resulted in 3 months wasted effort on product that wasn't viable) - Nepotism seems to be a problem, but is common amongst startups, so nothing unique

Pros
The team is full of friendly & helpful people, you can ask for help from anyone & they're happy to spend the time despite having a busy workload. There are lots of highly intelligent people working for the company but everyone is down to earth. You get the feeling of working towards a greater goal as a team as the company is focusing on making the industry more environmentally friendly & sustainable Great place to work if you like a challenge - there is a lot of opportunity in the business to put in place new process and to fix existing issues. Whilst some may see this as annoying, if you like to make a change & get stuck in then you would have lots of opportunity. It is not the kind of company where you can just sit back & do BAU. No two days are the same & it keeps you busy, you never get bored but at the same time I feel I have a good work/life balance - it's nice not to feel like you're clockwatching because there is plenty of work to keep you occupied Unfortunately I started with Rovco just before lockdown so I haven't been to many socials, but have heard lots of funny stories from previous events so it will be nice to attend more of these in the future! Communication is good in terms of keeping people up to date at a high level with things going on across the company. There are weekly company calls where you learn what is happening across the company, this has been really useful during COVID when people have not been in the office. Good opportunities to develop if you are willing to put in your share of the effort - learning & development programmes for example.
Cons
It can be frustrating at times when you are trying to drive change but it is difficult to get others on board due to issues such as lack of resource, it can feel like a bit of a slog when you are trying to work towards something to improve process but don't always get the buy in needed to push this forwards Although high level communication is strong through regular company calls, communication between teams could be improved to help with sharing of information and to align the teams as they're ultimately working towards a common goal Sometimes can feel high pressured/stressful but I think this is true of all companies/roles and I haven't felt this more at Rovco than in previous companies Doesn't always feel like there are supporting processes to support the fast growth so can sometimes feel disorganised/chaotic but this gives opportunities to make improvements

Pros
Committed, nice team, who always try to there best. Interesting industry.
Cons
Confused CEO, who is unpleasant and critical to staff. He says is inexperienced but doesn’t try to improve. Changes his mind almost daily, creates caos. Lots of ideas but not able to trust us, his team. Concerned with how look as a company to the investors, so lots of plastering on cracks . Tech products def need sorting out before ready. Long way to go to make good. A shame.
