I have been working at Rubicon Project full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, clients, offices and perks. Despite recent challenges (stock price, disruption in the market) the company is well placed to adapt and grow with a positive balance sheet post-IPO and new hires at CTO and CEO level.

    Cons

Some employees enjoyed the good times at Rubicon and are unaccustomed to a challenging market. Unfortunately, most normal markets don't grow at 50% quarter on quarter! Rubicon won't be the company it was 5 years ago but has lots to offer now and as it adjusts to a new marketplace.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing ahead with recent strategic initiatives. Rubicon is better placed than most competitors in the market to be a success.

I have been working at Rubicon Project full-time

    Pros

Extensive holiday package, full health care, free office meals, early finish on Friday.

    Cons

Leadership are focused on making the company profitable again. Culture has been impacted heavily, with another waive of redundancies taking place in February 2018, as well as a number of cutbacks. Cuts include: gym expenses, removal of desk phones, bonus reductions, Friday drinks trolley, office snacks (budget considerably reduced), pay rises/promotions pushed back 6 months etc. The compensation isn't that great, and there is 0 career progression plans in place. As a result, there have been a number of resignations. Soon to include mine.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on culture, career progression.

I worked at Rubicon Project full-time

    Pros

Great people, great benefits, generally very positive and fun working/social environment and culture.

    Cons

Poor options for development/promotion after a certain point, possibly somewhat misguided acquisition strategy, questionable focus of some senior management, possibly losing some of its market lead.

    Advice to Management

Refocus on product, UI of the product and the user, cut down on the self-indulgent 'rockstar' videos at company get togethers.

I have been working at Rubicon Project full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Extremely flexible work life balance, mostly because not many people are around anymore and no true upper management to enforce

    Cons

Turnover rate is tremendous, every week multiple people are leaving the company and HR can't do anything about it because most of their team is gone as well
No career progression or advancement opportunities
No clarity into executive plans or company direction, employees just get the fluff
Perks continue to get cut to save money

    Advice to Management

Just sell the company already, you've made it abundantly clear getting profitable trumps any innovation or product advancements. Employees are just coasting by waiting to see what happens
