I have been working at SAS Institute full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Best job I've had and best company I've worked for. I work with great talented people and management motivate and trust people to work on the right things.

    Cons

I cannot think of any down sides. Head hunters try to interest me in other jobs and I politely tell them to go away.

    Advice to Management

Cary on. You do a great job of communicating strategies and provide a productive and fulfilling environment, thank you very much.

    Pros

Marlow campus is a great work environment, lovely surroundings, excellent (and very cheap)restaurant, unlimited tea, coffee, juice on tap, superb recreational facilities including cricket and it's own 3-hole pitch & putt course, pool tables and much more. People are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, there is a genuine and deep-rooted feel good culture about this company, people are very proud to work here and often stay for many years.

    Cons

None really if you work hard, contribute and are good at your job

    Advice to Management

Keep up the impressive efforts to enhance and improve what is already a great place to work

    Pros

The local team is good and people are nice to work with. You can test some good ideas and local management give you rope to try them out.

    Cons

Serious shortage in resources in all aspects, sales, Presales and consulting while Regional Management keeps asking for growth.
Salaries not at par to market although expectation is to compete with the other large vendors.
Local management applies reasonable pressure but has limited decision making authority from Regional Mgmt.

    Advice to Management

Start investing in the market and the team. Give flexibility to the team to act. Trust your local managers.

I have been working at SAS Institute (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Probably among the best benefit packages in the market. Great people and culture. Modern approach to work/life balance. Helpful and generous approach between co-workers as well as from international top management.
Great on boarding program and continuos training.

    Cons

Very conservative and product oriented. Facing some structural challenges to keep up with new emerging "good enough" players. Vague positioning and value offering. There has been too much focus on achieving short term numbers at the expense of investing in building local market awareness, positioning and branding.

    Advice to Management

Work on local branding and references. Improve software packaging and positioning. Better explain added value of analytics to business users and verticals. Still too analytic and theoretical selling. Build on strong network of loyal customers. Clarify channel sales model.
