A horrible place to work.

Pros

The one positive thing I can say about SLAM! Agency, is that their employees are some of the most dedicated people I had ever had the pleasure of working with. They are the only reason why the company survives.

Cons

SLAM! Agency's beliefs are bizarre at best. For orientation, they begin with what I can only consider in my own words as "a brainwashing process that is their own perversion of a religion" I had the feeling that If I didn't throw down my own beliefs and give them praise for their cult-like-following, I would be alienated, and oh boy was I right! This place was a red flag from the beginning, but I allowed my hope for a dream career to block my common sense. Although originally promised "unlimited remote work" , that changed within the week I was hired. If you ask to take "remote work" they may grant you it, all the while being extremely passive-aggressive. The constant poor treatment of employees is pitiful. All are underappreciated, over-worked, and underpaid. This company could be so much more, but the lack of communication and structure could be its ultimate demise. You will not grow here. If your ambition in life is to learn and advance your ability, your best bet would be grabbing one of the numerous outdated books in the library and learning the "top tricks and tips" from the 1980's.

Amazing Culture

Pros

You don't find companies like this in the Midwest. The owners take culture seriously and consciously go about maintaining it. The annual team retreat gets better every year (this year we went to an all-inclusive in the Riviera Maya). And then there's weekly yoga in the office. Obviously not for everyone, but I love it!

Cons

This is a company that isn't afraid to shift course or pivot. In my time here, they have really narrowed their focus to capitalize on their strengths. If you don't like change, or as the owners call it, "optimization," then you probably won't like it here.
