I have been working at ST Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Stable work environment. Bonus is good.

    Cons

Lower than average basic salary compared to market rate with an ever increasing job scope and red tapes. Doing the same job as a sign on regular serviceman but with lower salaries, welfare and personal freedom. Lack of Recognition of contribution by the military establishment as you could lose your job anytime just for a small mistake.

Semi private company but employs too many ex regulars with a mindset that thinks that they are still in the military.

I have been working at ST Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Friendly culture and colleagues
Management tries to nurture the junior staff
Steady income from aircraft maintenance and repair which alleviates pressure on R&D based projects.

    Cons

Management aiming too high and unrealistic ideals about current level of technology.
E.g asking degree holders to do things that even teams of PhDs or Google have trouble with, e.g 100% image identification of features.
Mismatch of skill sets (e.g people with aero mech majors relegated to writing documents/specifications).
Too many proof of concept projects.
Big and bureaucratic. So much red tape procuring things.
Fixated on aerospace sector projects, (e.g. due to it being the ST Engineering group's aerospace arm), and hence unable to pivot fast.

    Advice to Management

Please don't just nod and say "yes" to each other on the conceptualization of projects. Try to steer clear of difficult poc work and focus on things that are more current and possible. Also, if there is no one in the department capable of the task, please hire a team of skilled professionals on contract, or outsource the work. Perhaps be more flexible to spin off smaller startup companies under the STA arm.
