I have been working at Sage full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Sage has managed to employ some exceptional people. The support, training and enablement staff especially are highly knowledgeable and massively under-appreciated.

    Cons

To be very specific, my experiences are related to Sales Division based in Manchester. Where do I begin! If you are considering a role at Sage, do read all the reviews. Please note the recent influx of overly positive reviews (Sage actively encourage employees to post positive reviews on Glassdoor and actually have employed a full time individual to troll the negative reviews, she will be along shortly). Also note...

    Advice to Management

Why is the latest marketing campaign talking about automation and AI? Sage don't have any (working) products that possess this functionality...You're only advertising for Xero! Aside from that, keep burying your head in the sand, it will all be over shortly.

Thanks for the review. There's a couple of things that need putting straight here. You refer to me in your review, so I can say with total honesty and integrity I have never asked for positive reviews. I ask for honest reviews - I can share with you the email if you wish (contact ...

I worked at Sage full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - People on the Ground and 'Old Sage' are great. They are invested in their colleagues and customers and interested in doing the best for both of them. - Sharesave, Reward Gateway and the other benefits are very good - Offices have good facilities available

    Cons

Having worked for Sage for a number of years, I always used to sing their praises as an employer and would regularly defend them against any criticism. However, over the last 2 -3 years I have seen a huge turnaround in Sage's attitude towards its employees. It no longer feels like you're cared for and employees are now merely a number. This seems to be the new strategy in order to push employees as far as possible to...

I worked at Sage full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Global brand, Market Leader, strong product portfolio, worked with some amazing people - Sage does recruit well. Has a good vision for growth.

    Cons

Brutal to work for. Targets high, salaries low. Endless catch up meetings sometimes on an hourly basis when Month ends were closing in. Extremely stressful place work! Bully culture in some areas of the business.

    Advice to Management

Stop bullying staff. Treat your staff better. The teams in place want to work hard and want to succeed and achieve targets. As Sage employs well the staff you have can be trusted to do their best and they are not. Staff pushed to sell hard to customers that do not need the product will not help Sage hit it's longer term goals. Customers are far more dissatisfied with Sage than Sage know! Sage needs to change its arrogance/attitude...

I worked at Sage full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Financially a very good and profitable business. Great pedigree in Payroll sector. Good career opportunities for talented people.

    Cons

In a huge state of transition and on a real knife edge as to whether or not the outcome will be positive. Big conflicts between local in country teams and globally structured supporting functions. Little substance from CEO other than business buzz words - same ones being used 2 years on. Danger is that Sage is losing a lot of talented knowledgable people in some key positions as they are jumping off the bus and self opting...

    Pros

    Work Monday to Friday 9-5

    Cons

Commission structure nowhere near what was promised. Unhappy customers due to poor management of the company. Archaic systems. The company competes with itself. Other companies sell our products for cheaper.

    Advice to Management

Stop making it harder for sales staff to do their jobs.
