Culture has not always been spot on in the past, now with the new CEO Steve Hare things are really turning around. Cons

Lots to do but making positive progress since new management took over and colleagues clear on how they contribute to sage becoming a SaaS business Bonus not paid in the past due to poor performance however this has been completely redesigned now that Steve hare is in charge

    Advice to Management

Since taking over as CEO Steve Hare has provided focus, clarity of vision and introduced a fairer more open culture, so my advice is keep doing what your doing, there is always lots to improve on but we are making great progress so far and its making a real impact .

I worked at Sage full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company has a great reputation, product and working facilities.

    Cons

Disorganised sales strategy and business planning process. Amateur finance processes and systems (ironically). Overpromising to board and investors, resulting in underperformance despite positive growth against last year. Leadership does not care about staff - happy to sack people to achieve their bonus targets. Senior global sales leaders lead by shouting 'sell more' with no vision on how to do it. Confused, disorganised,...

    Advice to Management

Inspire people, don't stress them out unncessarily. Don't constantly hire, enact mass redundancies, hire, enact mass redundancies etc. Don't rule by fear. You're making a lot of money, don't sack people because you overpromised profit levels to the board and investors. Hire senior finance leaders who know what they're doing, rather than managing by shouting at people to work faster when they have no clue at all about...

I have been working at Sage full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Sage in undergoing an ambitious transformation as it moves to a global operating model and rapidly modernise its product offerings to compete in an increasingly cloud solution dominated market. It's great to see Sage going through this much needed change, but at the same time change is difficult and can create some (hopefully temporary) pain-points. I'm encouraged by what I see but there's still plenty to do.

    Cons

Change is scary and can create some difficult working conditions as old ways of working are removed and new ones take time to bed down. We need to be understanding and patient whilst remembering that these issues will be temporary.

    Advice to Management

Large scale transformations are difficult and it's impossible to get everything right on the first pass. We need to continue being open to testing new ways of working and open to the possibility of failure, where failure then leads to lessons learnt and a better, and more informed, second attempt.

I have been working at Sage full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Sage takes its responsibilities towards its people very seriously, the company invests a huge amount of time in developing & coaching others, investing in colleagues' personal development whilst also sponsoring company wide mentoring programmes to ensure all colleagues can develop. There is a strong 'customer' ethos across the company and colleagues are empowered to do the right thing for customers in all circumstances....

    Cons

The company is going through a huge transformation at the moment, my only aspiration is for this transformation to execute at a quicker pace so we can really shift the needle in all of the areas we are planning to. We are all playing our part in the transformation adding to the inclusiveness colleagues feel towards the strategy.

    Advice to Management

The strategy is working, keep people & customers at the heart of what Sage is and it will continue to be a brilliant place to work.

I worked at Sage full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've met some of the nicest people that are unfortunately still there. The office spaces are nice with lots of space as they continue to reduce the size of the workforce.

    Cons

In my opinion, the company has very weak leadership that have extremely narrow scope focused on saving the company. Job security is none existent. Hired and fired people on a constant basis. Morale is really low across the organization.
