I have been working at Sage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Sage is at a really exciting stage in its evolution. There are numerous opportunities to change how things have been done in the past. No matter who I have met - seasoned veterans with multiple years at Sage or others who have just joined - everyone is positive, highly motivated and totally committed to the company strategy.

    Cons

Experiencing some 'growing pains' as the business continues to transform, but this is necessary for our future growth. The environment won't suit everyone. However the changes are essential if we want to be much more customer-centric.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.

I have been working at Sage

    Pros

I am sorry but I cannot write a positive review about a company where I have been told to post positive reviews on Glassdoor.

    Cons

At the time of writing our average rating is 2.7. Have a loot at Xero (4.1) and Intuit (4.2) and you will realise just how badly we are doing. And instead of trying to fix all the things that are wrong with this place what does Sage do? I have been told by my manager to post a positive review on Glassdoor. I think that says all you need to know about how much this place has lost its way. There are good tech companies...

    Advice to Management

Stop glossing over the deep problems we have here and fix things. This place is a mess and our rating (which is terrible) accurately reflects how bad things are.

Thanks for your feedback. I can categorically state I never, ever ask colleagues to write positive reviews. We have recently started to ask colleagues to write reviews which we've never done before, so maybe that's where the confusion is coming from. If you have been asked to write ...

I have been working at Sage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. 5 volunteering days is a great way of giving to the community and staff. Pension is top tier.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Unwillingness to accept negative truths. So much doesn't get reported past EVP. Unstructured matrix organisation. Massive employee churn.

    Advice to Management

Join all of the pseudo marketing departments. The split is clearly a way of satisfying personal agendas.

    Pros

    Cons

Everything except for the payment. The company doesn't give its talents the opportunity to grow.

    Pros

Great place to work, a growing company with strong reputation and good solutions, nice and interesting People, many challenges and a real team spirit.

    Cons

Global organization with the opportunity to work with different people with different culture but the same interest and motivation for Sage success and growth. I have been working at Sage full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

-Being part of a global team, with regular communications is great - lots of great learning opportunities and gives you the flexibility needed (work/life balance) - Travel opportunities - Change in leadership has lead to more colleague focus which is great and the investment in leadership teams at all levels is very encouraging - Innovation is key, so you get to work on some really exciting projects

    Cons

    - Still too much red tape, which wastes a lot of time - Progression pathways are only in place for product engineering not for the rest of the business - No support from HR business partners

    Advice to Management

I am fortunately to have an amazing manager who challenges me but is fair and cares about the individuals in his team, but with all the red tape he does not have the authority to sign off on any budgets for his team.

I worked at Sage full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some extremely smart people who work here - and if you open yourself up to learning from, your personal growth can be exponential. It’s also an international company, so you’ll work with people from literally all over the world. You interact with so many cultures, it’s amazing. Their benefits are also great because of this - minus the PTO.

    Cons

Marketing leadership micromanages their teams, and often passed the buck when things didn’t go as planned. I was once asked “Who approved this plan?” And when I said, “You did,” my managers response was literally, “I must not have been actually listening.” They also offer different PTO in various counties. While this makes sense from a holiday standpoint, it was really sad seeing some coworkers get 6 weeks of paid maternity...

    Pros

I have been working at Sage full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

A few of the people who work at Sage are qualified and want to do a good job and provide good customer service.

    Cons

Top management is constantly changing focus and direction- no clear vision. They have laid off a lot of people recently who had a wealth of experience. Because of those exits, Sage now has a huge gap in productivity and direction.

    Advice to Management

Before you lay off people, find out what role they play in your success instead of just looking at the numbers.

I have been working at Sage full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexibility, you can work from home. They encourage volunteering giving you 5 days a year to volunteer anywhere. They aren't strict about PTO (outside of the phones and sales, not sure about them), but if you have to work from home or take a day if you're sick it's not one of those things where you can be written up. The newly designed work spaces in Midtown and Lawrenceville are chic, modern and trendy. So, its a nice...

    Cons

Lots of change, not very transparent, the vision partially communicated. So, there are just random decisions made and you think "that makes no sense" and executive and global management will just move forward, therefore all that can be considered is they either want the business to fail or they know something they aren't communicating. I am going with the latter.

    Advice to Management

Do better in communicating change, otherwise it can eat at employee morale.
