Pros

Interesting study topics to work on sometimes.

Cons

I was on the fence at the beginning, but in retrospect I had a terrible experience at this company overall. The technology and processes are stunningly outdated and create mind-numbing levels of menial/manual yet incredibly detail-oriented labor that of course gets gleefully pawned off on the lower-level employees like myself, often with plenty of attitude to boot. It is all so bad that they hired a UX team to try to address the mess of internal infrastructure which causes employee burnout, turnover, and business limitations. I offered all the advice I could but didn’t see any positive changes by the time I left. Good luck with that herculean project. However, the HR and people front is really where this company fails dramatically and pushed it over the edge. First, I was bullied by a manager to a ridiculous extent (with plenty of evidence provided of harassment-levels of contact and abusive language constituting a hostile work environment). They forced me to continue working with the person for months and downplayed all my concerns, until I forwarded multiple screenshots of them making up obviously false claims and having a meltdown harassing me with copious texts, emails, and phone calls within the span of about 20 minutes. They still had the gall to ask me why I stopped responding. SMH. Then, due to circumstances beyond my control, out of nowhere I began dealing with an extremely intense situation in my personal life involving being a victim of hate crimes and harassment. That is of course not their fault, but the way they handled it couldn’t have been worse. I didn’t expect them to understand a situation like that fully (despite explaining it to them multiple times), but I definitely expected it to be handled with more tact than being told I’d be placed on ‘trial period’ and them refusing to make any of the very basic accommodations that I requested until I threatened to quit. When I finally did quit, they proceeded to send a bunch of messages demanding a laptop back when I informed them I was still dealing with the fallout from this unbelievable situation and was not in a position to feasibly return it right now considering everything that I am dealing with. The final straw occurred when I received a phone message from their HR threatening to sic their lawyers on me. Are you effing kidding me? As they say, read the room, and while you’re at it return your membership cards to the human race. Don’t bother wasting your time at this company. Great way to be underpaid and treated like trash. We all deserve much better than this.

Sago Response
3y
We appreciate the feedback and are disheartened to hear that the last few months of your employment led you to feel this way. Across the company, regardless of position, our goal is to support our employees in the best way possible, and to provide support where needed, professionally and personally if desired. While sometimes, we may not get it right, we do our best to have the tools and processes in place so that everyone has a voice. To the best of our ability, we look at individual situations and take steps to address conflicts or roadblocks that may be in place. We are sorry you feel this wasn’t the case. When employment does end, it is typical practice to have a process and timeline for returning IT assets. That process includes sending follow-up emails to employees who are delayed in returning their company-provided equipment. Those emails typically begin 60 days following an employee’s last day worked. We sincerely hope that things have improved for you and wish you the best in your future. We encourage you to reach out to HR@schlesingergroup.com if you would like to further discuss any concerns.

Pros

You meet nice people within the industry, but that's about it.

Cons

Called Sago now- hence don'e be deceived. Really Toxic, micromanaging, passive aggressive management who used to bullies you while training you. Really bad structure and organisation when it comes to the day to day work, expectations, goals and management in general. Tell you in the interview that they are flexible with time but hold it against you when you clock on and off on time. Chaotic environment.
