I worked at Saudi Aramco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Saudi Aramco provides great learning and development opportunities. Through in-house training, online courses, and networking opportunities, Aramco is a very good place to grow as a professional.

    Cons

Aramco is not an equal opportunity employer. Saudis get poor benefits. Moreover, the salaries are not based on job function, but rather on "grade code", so a drilling engineer and a recreational advisor of the same "grade code" can actually receive the same salary. Moreover, there is a degree of nepotism and favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Take the upcoming IPO as an opportunity to change company culture. Take good lessons from Petrobras so Aramco doesn't end up in the same hole.
