I worked at Scott Dunn full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Best travel company in the industry to work for without a doubt!

    Cons

Getting rid of the travel co-ordinators. We didn't have the time to do it all and they really helped!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Scott Dunn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relatively speaking money is good Fair mount of ski time for some roles

    Cons

No regard given for staff experience - poor people management, no incentives given to keep staff motivated. Other companies such as VIP Ski and YSE do this much better. Time sheets fabricated and signatures forged on said time sheets, meaning all those extra hours you put in to satisfy guests are completely meaningless in terms of your wages. Management belittled you, encouraged staff not to ski or go out to bars....

    Advice to Management

Employ managers who have genuine managerial experience, not just ex-season workers who have got cosy with people in UK head office. People management needs a complete overhaul. Trust in your employees to do their job.

    "Poor management"

Former Employee - Travel Consultant in London, England

I worked at Scott Dunn full-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

Amazing fam trip Free lunch on Fridays and free yoga class during peak season Gym on site

      Cons

Management is poor, disorganised and useless Lots of changes within the company Do not value the staff Certainly lots of room for improvement- out of 8 new starters 7 left the company within 6 month ! Big staff turnover

      Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and support them rather than being in meetings all day.

I worked at Scott Dunn full-time

      Pros

The fam trips are great, but are becoming more and more infrequent.

      Cons

Senior management is pretty abysmal; and some of the senior sales managers are useless - there are some who have no leadership or people skills and blame their juniors for their own mistakes which is pretty rubbish. Staff are not valued as they should be - the sales team make a LOT of money for Scott Dunn. Feedback is not listened to.

      Advice to Management

Better training for your sales management team; listen to feedback more.

I have been working at Scott Dunn full-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

Travel opportunities such as Familiarisation trips however even these are now being reduced.

      Cons

Management seems to be all over the place, drastic decisions are made without real thought and then dumped on us with no warning, discussion or appreciation of the effect this takes on us. The target/approach to the way we work as a company changes monthly, one minute we are told to do one thing, the next it’s the opposite, which can be extremely confusing. There seems to be an ‘out with the old, in with the new policy’,...

      Advice to Management

Acknowledge the discontentment that is clearly evident amongst the workforce and listen to our feedback even when that involves constructive criticism. Instead of using the ‘well this probably won’t work but we’ll make them do it for a month’ policy, take a little longer to make these decisions and gives us enough warning to get on board rather than expecting us to get on with it and not be fazed when after a couple of...

I have been working at Scott Dunn full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

Fast paced , made some great friendships

      Cons

No loyalty to staff Mistrust HR a shambles nothing is confidential

      Advice to Management

Start valuing your staff , high turn over is proof you have lost your way. Staff used to go the extra mile and even beyond in the past. Now staff are so pressured a high majority are either on anti depressants or intermittently signed off with stress. Management and HR answer to this is to slowly micro manage and bully them out of a job. Long term employees are few which speaks volumes. The brand no longer is held in...

I have been working at Scott Dunn full-time

      Pros

Some great opportunities to travel Fast paced company More job opportunities coming up daily as the company is growing

      Cons

Work stress rate is high. Very demanding work place with lots of targets and other pressures. Current Management team are very out of touch and do not live by Scott Dunn's true values.

      Advice to Management

Sort out the UK HR. Staff turnover is high and too many good people are leaving. Often wrong people get recruited and don't last (they were the lucky ones that even got a response from their application). If you had something confidential or something that was worrying you, the last people you would turn to is HR - nothing is confidential. Sort out your communication - too many chinese whisphers Where has the...
