I have been working at Search Consultancy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Structured Career Development
    Excellent team ethic
    Not a micro managed environment
Given time to develop when you join

    Cons

Company incentives are few and far between
Commission scheme is a bit complicated

    Advice to Management

Day to day the company is a fantastic place to work. If I was to be fussy I'd say it's a little bit KPI heavy and there are a lot of reports to do, but in all management is supportive, processes are smooth, theres a positive vibe in the office and things feel good.
The only thing that the company lacks is a few more team building activities outside of working hours - some incentives to reach etc wouldn't harm. And one of the first things I was told when I got into recruitment is "if you need a spreadsheet to work out commission, it probably isn't a good scheme" - it would be good to run a much simpler scheme that people understood properly.

I have been working at Search Consultancy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong brand name in their markets
MD's are extremely approachable and knowledgeable
The company's marketing team is very good
Encouraged massively to cross sell and work with different departments to find opportunities

    Cons

The CRM is a bit clunky
The training is a bit old school

    Advice to Management

Maybe lessen a little bit with the KPI's - it can feel a bit micro managed at times. However theres a good team ethic thats been created and it feels like a happy place to work.

Search is very much a Family. I have worked in the industry for nearly 8 years now, and never felt more at home! I have been with search for just over a year, and can say it was the best decisions I ever made career wise. The Management team are great, and operate an open door policy! nothing is to small or big!

I worked at Search Consultancy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros to working here

    Cons

If they don't like you they make it perfectly clear and will treat you differently to other members of staff. Your billings do not matter and it will be personal. Items will be thrown at you, you will be talked about quite openly by others in the office and be screamed at by colleagues. Do not expect to receive any training in the office, or be allowed to point out mistakes of management. Expect for you to be told different things from management so you can never know where you stand. You will only be accepted in this office if you do not have an opinion and praise management even when it's not justified. Expect to have commission taken off you, especially as it's paid 2 months behind so if you leave you lose out on even more commission. HR do not help, they are there to back up management even when they have broken the law and do not offer support to Employees. I know a number of other staff that have went to HR about issues and were offered no help.

    Advice to Management

Look at the retention rate of staff, there is a high level of turnover due to poor management. Directors are allowing employees to be bullied. With the new investors coming on board and wanting to expand further in the U.K. Look at the current management and how they are enhancing the already bad reputation that search has within the market place as an employer.
