Pros

Staff who conducted interviews seemed knowledgeable and competent

Cons

Executive staff and HR seem to be incredible unprofessional Accepted a job offer - 8 weeks through my 12 week notice period with my previous employer - Sharkmob decided to notify me that they were choosing to retract their job offer (to be clear - an employment contract had been signed by both parties). No reasonable explanation was offered, no compensation was offered, and not even an apology was made. Sharkmob refused to honor the terms of the signed contract, forcing me to pursue legal advice. I could not recommend anybody to pursue employment with this company based on their immoral, in-bad-faith and potentially illegal behaviour.

Pros

The studio space is fantastic, and the office team is among the most proactive and effective I’ve ever worked with. The development team is full of passionate individuals who bring great ideas to the project, and the vast majority of them are a pleasure to collaborate with. The benefits are quite generous, with strong support for mental health.

Cons

This company is struggling under a lack of clear direction from senior leadership, who appear uncertain about the project's goals. As a result, team members are left to fill in the blanks on their own, leading to significant issues with communication and collaboration across the board. Despite clear evidence that the same mistakes are being repeated, senior leadership has consistently failed to address the issues raised by the team. This ongoing neglect has contributed to a high turnover rate, with valuable experience walking out the door as frustrated employees leave. One of the most concerning aspects is the disconnect between the company's stated values and the actions of those in charge. Leadership is quick to hold others accountable, yet they themselves fail to uphold the company's core principles. Career development within the company is another area of concern. It seems to be a matter of luck whether you find yourself in a department that is well-managed or one that is completely mismanaged. The path for growth is unclear, leaving many employees uncertain about their future with the company. Overall, the combination of unclear direction, unaddressed issues, high turnover, and inconsistent management is creating a challenging work environment that is far from aligned with the company's values.

Pros

Could be a cool project Cool office location

Cons

Employees leaving in droves tells you all you need to know about a company. Every week there are 2-3 new leavers. I've never seen this many people leave this size of a company in this short amount of time, it's unsustainable. The cause boils down to very poor management, lack of policies or bad policies, and people being mistreated and not listened to.
