All Lies - Stay Far Away, Company is Crumbling

Pros

The largest pro I can think of is if you run into good people here. Flex scheduling is also nice.

Cons

Lies about the total number of employees, there are about 10 or so. CEO spews nonsense to those looking for an agency, as well as those who are currently employed. He doesn't care about his employees, as long as his agenda is followed. He is hard to get ahold of, and if you do - it's like he is waiting to move onto his next task. No loyalty. People are let go frequently and the CEO talks a big game, but it falls flat. I wouldn't be surprised if the company folds. They are holding onto clients by a string. Don't get trapped in the lies. RUN VERY FAST. You deserve better.

Existential crisis

Pros

Remote work, great benefits, good mix of interesting clients, no meetings on Fridays rule, managers are encouraging, everyone wants to learn, teamwork is great and working on clients really is a team effort

Cons

Management is leaving constantly so it's hard to get any type of consistent leadership or training if you need it. Client communications use so many different CMS and restricted document access that it's really a headache, especially after other employees leave. Ditto on the reviews of the CEO being delusional. He would send update videos every Friday telling us that this isn't the place for us unless we're giving 110% and always going above and beyond, and you'd start your weekend feeling like you don't deserve to be employed by anyone. It was soul crushing.

I appreciate your review and wanted to thank you for helping Single Grain grow as a company. Regarding the pros, we do our best to help our team members grow both personally and professionally. That's not to say we are perfect -- your feedback is well received and we are now working on continuing to improve the company. I apologize if you felt like my communication on our core values was harsh -- we do have high expectations for our team members and it is my job to keep us aligned and moving in the same direction. Some people don't necessarily want to work hard, and that is completely fine! But at Single Grain, we want to help people level up to become the best version of themselves so they do great work wherever they end up going long term.

Sinking Ship- It gets worse every day

Pros

Used to be an amazing team.

Cons

Do not trust the older positive reviews; the company has changed dramatically, and not for the better. It’s a sinking ship. The CEO is simply not a good manager or business owner. In the past few months, he’s pushed out nearly all of upper management, intentionally making it so unbearable they’d quit. None of those roles have been replaced, it’s been months and instead, existing employees have been forced to absorb completely unrelated responsibilities without any training or support. The company says they want to hire "A players" and innovative thinkers, and many of us were exactly that when we joined. But now, everyone is so spread thin, confused, and burnt out that it’s impossible to keep up. There’s no structure, no onboarding, and no help. You’re expected to somehow figure everything out on your own, and if you’re not using the latest AI tool or pitching some new idea without any resources or teammates? You're out. They’ve canceled most internal meetings, so collaboration is nearly nonexistent. You’re actively discouraged from asking questions or relying on coworkers. It’s become a completely isolating and hostile environment. The company used to prioritize learning, growth, and employee development. They’re refusing to backfill essential roles, literally expecting, for example, a paid media manager to take over hiring for SEO. The running logic is “AI can replace them,” and the cracks are showing. Clients are leaving left and right, voicing exactly what we’re all experiencing internally: everything is chaotic, disconnected, and disorganized. It's honestly sad to see how quickly things spiraled. The team is full of smart, capable people who’ve been completely depleted. If you’re considering joining, just know: it’s not the company it once was, and it will take a serious toll on your mental health.
