I have been working at Sir Robert McAlpine full-time

    Pros

One of the best reasons for working for sir robert mcalpine is the people and the staff members.

    Cons

One of the cons for working with srm are the constant changes in the procedures. Every project is run with the same set of rules that they must stick to.

    Advice to Management

Advice would be to actually spend more time and listen to the issues of the staff and act on them.

I have been working at Sir Robert McAlpine full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Good people on most sites, hours are there if you want them, friendly teams on site most of the time.

    Cons

HR department is a joke, in my region anyway, can hardly get them on the phone then when you do its not worth the wasted time as you never get any further forward, they will spend £1 to save a penny and think its a job well done. Trying to get help or information from the hr department is near impossible, you have to keep chasing as know one actually knows what to sya or do when you ask a question thats not very very...

I have been working at Sir Robert McAlpine full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great people most of whom are doing a great job - Great to work for a long established company where the family owners still take such a keen and active influence. Some of the "old ways" are changing now - some for the better - just hope we don't lose the family ethos that we've had for years.

    Cons

Not many - very proud to be part of this organisation - just a shame some of the newer members of senior management don't always listen and they sometimes seem very detached

    Advice to Management

you have new ideas that's a good thing - but you don't always know best.
