I worked at Sky full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Free sky! Amazing staff deals!

    Cons

Long long hours, not easy to hit target, dirty offices

    Advice to Management

There should still be some incentive even if you don’t hit target, the commission /sales conversion is based on the amount of calls you take even though some calls could be the wrong line! They advise that you should turn 90% of calls into sales but it is tough on a quiet day with calls which are supposed to be for customer service. Then that’s a downer as you don’t hit target and it puts you off

I have been working at Sky part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

degree of flexibility perks people engagement activities

    Cons

unatainable targets backward management hypocritical practices in terms of green credentials ( they started the ocean rescue but the amount of waste of paper in the contact centre is astronomical) unfair treatment of staff (in order to avoid paying redundancies they "manage" people out of the business by setting them up to fail) they don't actually give a hoot about the customer all they do is for the sake of profit not enough opportunities for working mothers hence the gender pay gap

I worked at Sky for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great site - innovative and eco-friendly building, waitrose on site, subsidised canteen.

    Cons

Extremely Corporate. Ideas never heard or someone else takes the credit. IT and HR nightmare. Label employees and hardly ever get promoted. Awful hierarchy system and Exec team are untouchable.

    Advice to Management

Take notice of long term talent looking for new opportunities. Give feedback and deal with issues immediately.

Current Employee - Recruitment Partner in Isleworth, England
    Negative Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at Sky full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Absolutely no pro’s despite sitting here for five minutes trying to think of some!

    Cons

Awful culture, divides, heads of who dont have a clue, cliquey groups, surprisingly alot of very thick people. Snowflake organisation. Do not work in recruitment. The environment is toxic with all recruitment being outsourced and Sky treating them like slaves. There are recruitment managers who have absolutely no idea what they doing, particularly in the early careers space. People get treated VERY differently and there is no consistency at all. Things are very fluffy - I.E - One thing will take a million discussions and meetings that just aren’t needed and a total waste of time! They also actively filter out people from certain background and races in favour of meeting diversity quotas. You could have done better than a load of other applicants but if you aren’t “diverse” enough you don’t stand a chance. Such a lack of equality and so much incompetence. Very gossipy and sly environment, never experienced anything like it! It is NOT a nice place to work until you fit the clique, they treat you awfully. Full of little princesses / spoilt brats. As per many reviews, avoid this place like the plague.
