Pros

Colleagues are great and we work with some amazing clients producing brilliant events

Cons

Poor leadership, no women at director level and inexperienced managers. No regard for people's mental health and well being. 60-70 hour weeks are the norm. Directors only care about making money.

We’re really sorry to see this review from a member of our Smyle team, and want to reassure the writer (and anyone reading this) that we take this kind of feedback very seriously. Our culture and people are really important to us, and leadership is focussed on finding ways we can continue to improve the culture and evolve the agency. We are taking care to address work/life balance and well-being for our people given significant growth over the last 18 months, and in particular after a recent intense period of work for the whole agency. A number of measures are already in place – both structured and ‘soft’ – and there will be more to come on this throughout 2020.

Pros

The people who do the work at Smyle are fantastic.

Cons

The 'culture' that they pride themselves on is false. A few beers in an office fridge doesn't equal a 'great culture'.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We’re pleased that you thought the people you worked with at Smyle were fantastic. We’re sorry to hear that our culture didn’t meet your expectations. Our culture goes far beyond simple perks like office beers, and we’re deeply committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and motivated. This is reflected in our Forum, initiative groups and "When Life Happens Leave," providing 5 extra paid days for life events. We're committed to reflecting on your feedback and would appreciate any insights you could share on areas for us to consider for improvement. Please feel free to reach out to us at px@smyle.co.uk, as we’re always striving to make meaningful enhancements to our workplace.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you value the hybrid working model, our multiple locations, and the benefits we offer. It’s lovely to see you valued your colleagues and the variety of clients. Thank you also for sharing your constructive feedback on things we need to do better. We acknowledge the concerns you’ve raised regarding project management and work-life balance. These are important areas we’re continually working to improve. We understand that long hours can impact work-life balance, we are reviewing ways to address this, ensure our teams feel supported and ensure our teams are able to find that balance when our clients / projects ask a lot of us. Regarding pension contributions and bonuses, we recognise that these are key areas for employee satisfaction, and we will evaluate them further as part of our ongoing review of compensation and benefits which we have done some great work on improving and enhancing over the last few years. Thank you again for sharing your insights and feedback.
