I wish I hadn't taken the job

Pros

Being able to have visibility into product development.

Cons

I wish I had known more about this place when I took the job. The founder of the company also owns a majority of the "clients"that Spindle works on. Because of this its is not really run as an agency but as a production house to get products into market quickly. There was never a strategy or a brief with any project and it was hap-hazard at best. Any project that we attempted to concept or create a process around was quickly killed. It was at this point that I dug into the history of Spindle 360 and was unhappy with what I found. There is a strong possibility that this "agency" is merely a vehicle for other business ventures. Its unfortunate because there is a lot of potential, but based on the history of the founder and what I saw in person, it is unlikely that anything will change

Thank you for the nice compliments on our office space and our team members. We are proud of our incredible team, with about half of those team members being here for 5 years or longer. Some companies hire smart people and tell them exactly what to do. At Spindle, we hire smart people and let them tell us what needs to be done. Spindle 360 subscribes to MBO or Management by Objective. This former team member cites of a “lack of management” but it is by design. We have found that our most successful team members prefer autonomy rather than strict tasks imposed on them by another person. Job satisfaction goes up and team members are more engaged. It is important for team members to have chemistry with the rest of the team and have a strong work ethic. One of our long-time team members reported that this person wasn’t pulling their weight and showing up to work at 10:30am, leaving for lunch at 11:30 and then leaving at 5pm. This was forcing other team members to pick up the slack. After an investigation, it was determined they were not a good fit and they were let go.
