I worked at St. James's Place Wealth Management part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Free lunch at training

    Cons

Absolutely shocking! The partner blatantly ignored policy, mislead clients and only cared about bringing in more money. Tild customers they could take money out at any time but failed to mention the charges. Partner was simon benson

    Advice to Management

Do proper checks that your partners are following proceedure and listen fully to customer complaints! Partner never sends letters to customer advising of early withdrawal fees!!!

I have been working at St. James's Place Wealth Management full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Great corporate benefits - non-contribution pension, medical care, good bonus scheme and options for shares.

      Cons

Reporting to a department head, rather than the manager within the location can be frustrating. Salary isn't quite as high as other, similar roles in the area.

I have been working at St. James's Place Wealth Management full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Huge potential upside for financial advisers within the group, with high earnings potential and complete control over your work/life balance

      Cons

Very poor benefits (little/no pension, no health cover, poor remuneration) for support staff and trainees within the advisory Practices which are run as small businesses and rarely see the benefits of investing in their staff. There is little governance from the corporate Group to ensure support staff receive fair benefits, as such many remain underpaid.

      Advice to Management

Ensure that fair benefits are provided to not just advisers (those who bring in the money) but also their support staff, who ensure the whole operation continues to function.

      Pros

      Cons

Progression is a little slow in head office as it is based in a small town so not much movement.

I worked at St. James's Place Wealth Management

      Pros

Good marketing operation and expensive looking brochures.

      Cons

SJP drive a coach & horses through FCA and RDR requirements, using a quasi-commission based "fee" structure. This leads to miss selling and poor practice, which is swept under the carpet as long as the Partner is a profitable business producer. Some Partners earn in excess of £250,000 PA , employ a paraplanner on 30K to do all the hard work, and swan around on the golf course most of the week. Partners often treat any...

      Pros

FTSE 100. Guys I worked with were ok. Decent work environment.

      Cons

Staff treat partners like second rate citizens. Not a nice company to work for. Extortionate fees and purely a sales machine mentality.
