I worked at Standard Chartered Bank full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Work-life balance and flexi working, with the Bank offering many extra curricular benefits. Good opportunities to move around the Bank. Nice working environment and friendly place to work. The holiday leave is very generous.

    Cons

Many people take advantage of the flexi working and it can encourage people to drift along. It therefore sometimes lacks the passion and drive of other Banks. There is plenty of red tape and bureaucracy so decision take a long time and people are reluctant to take decisions.

I worked at Standard Chartered Bank full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Global organisation, strong values, dynamic work environment, business success

    Cons

Hierarchy and the ability to make change became incredibly slow, two restructures in two years - the first one saw minimal change, the latest one will hopefully provide the change the organisation needs to become the high performing International Bank they have been known for in the past.
